Vineel Kothuri | BLS #2 AKA Writing Assignment #2 | Oct 26, 2024 Part 1 (contains 421 words) To begin with, the main industry that employs people that want to be management analysts are consulting services within the management, scientific, and technical fields. This industry contributes to employing a whopping 11.91% of management analysts. I am happy to hear this because I was planning and hoping to work for a consulting firm once I graduate. Since a consulting firm specializes in helping companies in solving complex and difficult problems or situations, I feel that this type of industry will help me develop valuable technical and business skills that I can use for the rest of my professional journey. In addition, the states that have the highest level of employment for management analysts are California, Texas, and Florida. This is also great news for me because I am happy to live in any one of these states! My family lives in Dallas, Texas, so getting a job in Texas would mean I would be very close to my family, and I can visit them frequently. I also have an extended family in California, and I adore the beautiful, sunny weather that they have there. Florida is another state with great weather and an amazing, fun environment that I would love to be a part of and work in. The states with the highest concentration (location quotient) for management analysts are East Coast states including the District of Columbia, Virginia, Delaware, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. I would love to land a job in any of these East Coast states. The East Coast is full of rich history, culture, and incredible cuisine, so there are many things to eat and do there. I will also learn many things over time about the beautiful history of the Unites States since the East Coast was the first area to exist as the United States when they were the thirteen colonies. The top paying states for management analysts are Massachusetts, Wyoming, New York, Vermont, and New Jersey. I am hesitant about accepting a job in Vermont or Wyoming even despite the high pay in these states respective to others because I am unsure that I will enjoy life in these states. On the other hand, I am more than happy to live in New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts due to their bustling environment and fast paced, fun lifestyle. Altogether, I like many of the states outlined above, but the state I would prefer to live in the most would be California due to the presence of my extended family there and the blissful weather. Part 2 (contains 361 words) Based on my preferred location of California and my selected occupation of being a management analyst, an amazing company that has its headquarters in California that I would love to work at is Apple. Apple has its headquarters in Santa Clara which is the same city that my extended family lives in. They live only five minutes away from there! If I had the privilege of working here, I could visit my extended family very frequently and even have dinner with them multiple times a week. This would mean a lot to me since I would still feel a sense of epiphany and family warmth in this scenario. Also, Santa Clara is located within Silicon Valley. The valley protects the city from extreme weather and regulates it such that the weather is always incredibly nice and blissful no matter the time of year. Apple’s central mission is to bring the best user experience to customers through innovative hardware, software, and services. In addition, Apple’s vision is to make the best products on earth and to leave the world better than they found it. Next, Apple’s social responsibility strategy includes possessing strict standards for labor rights and ethics, including the Apple Supplier Code of Conduct, and regularly auditing its suppliers. Another major social responsibility strategy that Apple partakes in is to support non-government organizations through financial assistance and collaboration on corporate social responsibility projects and programs. Along with this, Apple has taken many initiatives towards their environmental impact strategy. First, Apple is working to become carbon neutral by 2030, and the company has already reduced its carbon footprint by over 55% since 2015. Second, Apple believes in the importance of conserving energy through the use of renewable energy. Apple uses 100% renewable energy for its operations in the United States and in 29 other countries. Third, Apple believes in the importance of recycling. They recycled materials in their products, including 100% recycled aluminum in the enclosures of the MacBook, Apple TV, and Apple Watch. Fourth, Apple understands the severity of global warming and is motivated to help this cause by moving toward low-carbon shipping by increasing ocean shipping to reduce transportation emissions. Part 3 (contains 489 words) After doing research, I found that Apple offers jobs for management analysts, business analysts, financial analysts, and other business specialties. All three options are in my wheelhouse, but I would prefer the management analyst listing the most. I am extremely confident that the management analyst job opening from Apple is the best fit for me for a plethora of reasons that I have already discussed previously in this assignment. Nevertheless, I will put everything together to justify why I believe Apple and the management analyst job opening is perfect for me. To start off with, the headquarters of Apple are located in Santa Clara which is important to me for two reasons. First, my extended family lives within the city, so if I were to work here, I could visit them often and maintain a sense of epiphany and warmth from my loved ones. Second, I love the weather in that city. Santa Clara is located in Silicon Valley which means that the city is protected from the extreme and external elements from the sea and the winds that surround the valley. In effect, the valley protection regulates the weather in the city to be serene and beautifully sunny almost every day regardless of the time of year. With this weather, not only would I enjoy the outside environment every day, but I would also be able to simplify my wardrobe since I would only need clothes for the consistent, simple weather present in Santa Clara. In addition to my subjective preferences, I am confident that Apple and its management analyst job opening would be right for me due to the fact that Apple’s culture and mentality is in line with my principles and ambitions. Apple is a company that strives to make peoples’ lives better through creating ingenious and innovative products and that is what I have always wanted for myself in my life goals. Also, Apple does a lot towards taking initiative to help the environment through lowering its carbon footprint and utilizing more renewable energy and recycled material. I have always believed in the importance of respecting and taking care of our Earth which was instilled into me at an early age by my amazing mother. Another respectable characteristic of Apple is what they do to help the “little guy”. Apple is in firm support towards labor rights and ethics, and they do a ton to help out non-government organizations. Apple is under no obligation to do this, and they certainly don’t receive any benefits from helping these groups, yet they do it because they know that this is the right thing to do as a leader and caretaker of the world. Overall, seeing how much Apple is striving to better the environment and the helping nature they possess makes me proud. Hence, being a part of this company as a management analyst would fulfill my passion, and it would also make me proud of myself.
