French I Gerry Chidiac La Belle et La Bête Muhammad Imtiaz Raza 203158549 October 21st, 2024 Jean Cocteau’s “La Belle et La Bête” is an amazing movie. I have watched Disney’s live action “Beauty and the Beast”, but I don’t quite remember the whole film, but I can tell the difference between both of these films. Both films have the same storyline and same moral but what I find different in both films is the Disney’s film has made shown more magical creatures and objects that can actually talk, but the Jean Cocteau’s film has these live objects, but they can’t talk, they just follow orders or just look around. Jean Cocteau’s film was made around 1946 but still they were able to give that magic to the audience which I think should have shocked the audience at that time. Both films have shown the same characters, their story goes the same in both films, I didn’t see much difference in both films except a few things. Jean Cocteau’s film in my opinion can be considered classic as I think it is the oldest tv version, I am sure but, it is just my guess and not just this, how Jean Cocteau has made the set look so original, how he has showed us all the magical objects in the film, how he has delivered the story, everything in the movies just looks so good that I enjoyed every minute of the movie. I don’t really watch old movies, but this one was really interesting. The dialogues, the romantic and chaotic scenes, beautiful set, they all felt classic while watching the movie which just makes want to live the life in that fantasy world. Jean Cocteau’s “La Belle et La Bête” is a wonderful movie!
