FACILITATION STRATEGIES Components Introduction and Warm up Duration 5 min Concept Exploration 35 minutes Activities and Procedures Begin by asking students what comes to mind when they hear the word "peace." Write down their responses on the whiteboard. Discuss different interpretations and definitions of peace, including inner peace, interpersonal peace, and peace in society. Brainstorming Activity (10 minutes) Divide the class into small groups and provide each group with a piece of paper. Instruct them to brainstorm examples of situations or actions that contribute to peace, both on a personal level and in the wider community. Encourage creativity and critical thinking. Ask each student to write down one commitment or action they pledge to take to promote peace in their own lives or communities. It could be something as simple as resolving conflicts peacefully, volunteering for a cause, or advocating for positive change. After writing their pledges, students can share them with the class if they feel comfortable. Reflection and Closing Conclude the lesson by inviting students to reflect on what they have learned about peace and how it applies to their lives. Encourage them to think about the role they can play in creating a more peaceful world.
