FACT SHEET Body builder electrical centre Body builder electrical centre - body builder module Depending on how the truck is specified, an electrical unit for body builder functions can be ordered. To suit different customer needs, four levels are available. All levels have a body builder electrical centre, which is a fuse relay placed in the centre section of the instrument panel, easily accessible behind a protecting lid. For the higher levels, the body builder electrical centre is connected to the Body Builder Module (BBM), a separate electrical control unit that provides a CAN-based data link dedicated for the superstructure. The BBM unit provides vehicle information for the superstructure, for example speed, energy consumption and light status. It allows the superstructure installation to control the vehicle, for example switching on/off the engine (diesel/LNG vehicle) or electric drive unit (electric vehicle) and controlling the power take-off. The BBM unit also delivers information from the equipment to the instrument display. Sales variants ECBB-BAS Body builder electrical centre without any BBM unit. ECBB-MED Body builder electrical centre with BBM unit (7+4 digital outputs). ECBB-HIG Body builder electrical centre with BBM unit (14+4 digital outputs). ECBB-HI2 Body builder electrical centre with BBM unit (14+4 digital outputs) and Body Builder Input/Output Module (BBIOM). Body builder electrical centre with body builder module. Productivity • Simplifies installation of the superstructure and shortens lead-time. • Four levels available to suit different customer needs. • The higher levels offer several features, including body builder module and configurable digital outputs*. * For more detailed information, see Volvo Body builder Instruction (VBI), section Vehicle Electronics. This level supports up to two power take-offs and is recommended when no or very limited body builder functionality is needed. The ECBB-HIG features a body builder electrical centre and a BBM unit with a total of 18 configurable digital outputs - 14 high (DOH/24 V) and 4 low (DOL/ground). Up to four power take-offs are supported. This level is recommended for demanding superstructures that require more than seven high digital outputs from the BBM unit. ECBB-HI2 Body builder electrical centre (ECBB-BAS). The ECBB-HI2 features a body builder electrical centre, a BBM unit with a total of 18 configurable digital outputs — 14 high (DOH/24 V) and 4 low (DOL/ground) — and an additional Body Builder Input/Output Module (BBIOM). Up to four power take-offs are supported. This level is recommended for very demanding superstructures that require a large number of connections. ECBB-MED The ECBB-MED features a body builder electrical centre and a BBM unit with a total of 11 configurable digital outputs - 7 high (DOH/24 V) and 4 low (DOL/ground). Up to four power take-offs are supported. This level is recommended for superstructures where seven high digital outputs from the BBM unit is sufficient. Body Builder Input/Output Module (BBIOM). The additional module is transport-mounted on the chassis with extra cable length and should be relocated to the required place at the chassis by the body builder.
