DEMINERALIZED WATER PRODUCTION
The demineralized water system could be divided into two subsystems according to
function: pre-treatment system and RO demineralize system.
1. Pretreatment system consists of deep well pump, valveless filter, comprehensive
water tank, and industry water pump for public use, clarified water tank, clarified
water pump, iron removal water pump, iron removal aeration tower, fine sand
filter, activated carbon filter and so on in chemical workshop for removing
suspended substance, colloid and iron ion and so on, and offer conditions for
latter demineralize treatment.
2. RO demineralize system consists of safety filter, RO high pressure pump, RO
Membrane, degassing tower device, demineralize water tank, demineralize water
pump and so on for removing 98% salt in water, and make sure water inlet
requirement of latter system. Mixed bed demineralize system consists of mixed
bed ion exchanger. The main purpose of this system is to make sure water-quality
index, and make qualified demineralize water.
The brief introduction of process of demineralized water production (as it
applies in Olorunsogo Power Plant):
DEEP WELL WATER → VALVELESS FILTER (removal of iron) →
COMPREHENSIVE WATER POOL or SEDIMENTATION BASIN → industry
water pump → CLARIFIED WATER TANK → clarified water pump →
↓↓
(flocculating agent and coagulation aid) via deiron aeration tower →
DEIRONING WATER TANK → deironing water pump → FINE SAND FILTER
(removal of suspended particles) → ACTIVATED CARBON FILTER (removal of
chlorine and suspended particles)
↓
(scale inhibitor)
SAFETY FILTER (removal of chlorine and suspended particles) → RO high
pressure pump → REVERSE OSMOSIS MEMBRANE → degassing water tower
(removal of CO2) → FRESH-WATER TANK or DECARBONATOR→ fresh-water
or decarbonator pump → DEMINERALIZED WATER TANK → demineralize
water pump → water consumption (for plant use)
