What is a character?
A character is someone or something that the story is about.
• Let’s look at the cover of our book. What is the title?
• Look at the picture. What do you see?
• How many characters do you think will be in our story if the title is
“FIVE SILLY FISHERMEN?”
• Where did the first character go?
• What did the second character do?
• Where is the third character?
• Where is the fourth character?
• Which character is in the best place to catch a fish?
• What is this silly fisherman doing?
• Do you think it is a good idea to talk to the fish?
• Do you think the fish understand the silly fisherman?
