There are just 9.8% of people who choose the right career which satisfies them. In most cases, people end up choosing a career that is apart from their personality and characteristic, generally because of the job security and monetary benefits. This career selection may provide them happiness at the start but may lead to less productivity, work stress, and shifting of job(Fatima et al., 2022). The popularity of MBTI gives an effective way to solve this dilemma. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is a personality instrument with numerous applications. It has been updated regularly based on continuing research trained psychologists. it builds an understanding of our strengths and blind spots(Minutes, 2017) . Correct using the MBTI can help us career selecting and career development. Firstly, the MBTI can help us choose the suitable career according to our personalities. When starting job hunting and interview, many young people doubt themselves, hesitate and end up going in the wrong direction(Minutes, 2017). While the tool is not an perfect way against all risks, the MBTI can help these people by suggesting the suitable works in which they would be most likely to thrive according to their personality. That is why increasing number of the career counsellor using this tool during the career planning for their clients(Kennedy & Kennedy, 2004). Assessment results allow the clients and counsellor to explore paths that at first, might be contrary to family and friend’s assumptions but ultimately are more fulfilling to the clients. According to a career counselor, Darlene Garcia,“In college-age people, the MBTI and Strong assessments can bring about a twoyear jump in maturity and confidence in two weeks. I see it all the time”(College, 2018). For these students and many others, assessments help open their eyes to why they’re not happy. They come out with a positive and relatively clear understanding of themselves and a new sense of direction.
