To ensure the well-being and safety of all program participants, every individual who is involved in a Broad Reach-sponsored activity—either on board a Broad Reach training vessel, on the grounds of the NYC or anywhere a sponsored event is happening—must agree to abide by the following guidelines at all times: 1. All crew, participants and volunteers will conduct themselves in a professional, respectful and safety-conscious manner, and will respect the privacy and property of the National Yacht Club, its Members and Broad Reach Canada. 2. No smoking on any training vessel, and only in designated areas on the grounds of the National Yacht Club. 3. No participant will possess, use or transfer alcohol or illegal substances while on the grounds of National Yacht Club or while engaged in any Broad Reach program and related activities. 4. Disruptive, offensive or disrespectful behaviour or language will not be tolerated. This includes loud or excessive obscene language; pushing, shoving or other undesired body contact with others; physical, verbal or emotional harassment of any kind, etc. 5. Willful or careless disregard for any safety rule, guideline or verbal order, whether or not it results in an accident or injury, will not be tolerated. 6. I understand that Broad Reach programs are designed to engage with youth from varying socio-economic backgrounds who might not have access to sailing programs. I will strive to ensure that youth in my care feel safe, secure and respected and that I do my best to facilitate their learning in a way that is engaging and fun. Furthermore, I understand that as a Broad Reach volunteer, I must set a positive example for the youth for the duration of their time with us. Further, I Agree to the Following: 1.
