A l l t h r o u g h o u t m y l i f e , I h a d always been interested in design and engineering. Looking at products that I had even used myself and wondering how I could improve the products. This led me to pursue a career within engineering and design, Completing modules in mechanical engineering, design practice & c u l t u r e a n d C A D & C N C t h e o r y. All these topics are seen throughout the portfolio in the various projects that I have taken part in. 3 Report on composites within building materials Project information This project materials was based within the on the use construction of composite industr y, more specially the materials used within roofing. W e worked within a group of other students within the class, this was beneficial as I was collaborating with other young m inds of today. The section introducing begins the with an application introductory overview, of matrix a Pugh in engineering and detailing research on parameters to optimize reinforcement and matrix selection for roofing. It addresses gaps in previous sections, ensuring a thorough decision-making process for roofing applications, aiming to maximise mechanical potential and provide optimal performance. The exploration encompasses various reinforcements and matrices for roofing composites, highlighting the use of the Pugh Matrix for informed material choices. A created scale criteria aids in report includes evaluating composite a Pugh specific options. Matrix The assessing reinforcements and matrices, emphasizing the benefits of s ynthetic com posites for roof ing, such as m aterial efficienc y, environmental friendliness, and effectiveness in the building materials industry. cost- MASTERCAM Project Project information I inserted a CAD component into MASTERCAM serves as the s ystem ’s design for m anufacturing, em plo ying various applications to create a tool path for the m achine. The im ages displa ys the com pleted tool path system featuring multiple applications. Notably, the machining section allows the application of different tools to shape the material into the desired component. W ireframe Clamps are integrated into the tool path s ystem as avoidance regions, ensuring the machine avoids specific areas during material machining. This meticulous design and incorporation of avoidance measures contribute to the precision and efficiency of the manufacturing process. G-Code Programming Project information The provided computer-aided drawing (CAD) depicts a lecturer-supplied acquisition of component, G-code and fundamentals, I through the mastered its application in a m achining s ystem . The developed Gcode for an end mill is showcased in the image, where I meticulously identified start and end points, included tool descriptions, and specified coordinates, limiting rapid tool movements and accounting for tool length. A sequence of coordinate coding directs the tool to precise machining locations on the Material. Notably, cancel com m ands are strategicall y placed in the code to nullify previously set operations, ensuring a controlled and efficient machining process. This proficiency in G-code application demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of machining principles and contributes to the precision and success of the manufacturing endeavour. Global Engineer Project Project information The report methods begins to address with the application water-related of issues ideation in Govan. A mini protot ype assess was created structural using a performance 3D in printer to different environments. The final concept, supported by CAD drawings and CNC machining, evolved from iterative development. The project extended into practical engagem ent at the Ro yal Victoria Hospital, providing valuable insights from consultants and patients dealing with prosthetic-related injuries, contributing to both the scientific and user-centred aspects of the project. Dumbbell Design Project information The project products, commenced establishing with a research foundation on for existing subsequent concepts. After narrowing down to three researched products, the provided image details features, functionalit y, aesthetics, and ergonom ics, influencing future concepts. The section delves into product/concept requirements, crucial for developing a suitable product for potential clients. Various dumbbell concepts are explored, emphasizing efficiency in design. The concept and development phase involve recreating researched products in a personalized design style. The image showcases features inspired by crutches and like a level release the incorporation of gyroscope principles for adaptable electronic weight. The finalized solution includes a colour scheme indicating battery life at the dumbbell's centre. This approach not only integrates ergonomic considerations but also showcases innovative features, aligning with the project's goal of creating an efficient and userfriendly product.
