She would make them work hard and she did not obey them. They were lucky that she spoke sweetly to them from time to time. He kept his promise when the woman asks him to marry her. He is not pleased with his promise at first and was miserable. Towards the end, he is happy that he married the woman. 22. (327) - The knights wife gives him the choice, either he can have her be ugly but loyal and good or he can have her young and fair but also coquettish and unfaithful.
