NAME: Mlungisi Mankani STUDENT ID: 70077005 Title: How the Covid-19 pandemic has affected my life and studies, and what we should do to end the pandemic. Covid-19 a disease caused by corona viruses, with high transmissibility rate to spread to the whole globe in a short period of time consequently being declared a pandemic by the WHO. It has plunged the whole world into disarray and dismay affecting everyone both negatively and positively. Among many of the factors affected by this pandemic my personal life and studies are not an exception. I will outline and discuss some of the effects caused by the pandemic in my life and studies as well as my suggestions on how the world can overcome the virus. During these unprecedented times, I have been forced to make changes in my day-to-day life. Some of these changes I made were to follow the strict guidelines given to us by the authorities and others were just my own choice. I no longer attend public gatherings like I did before the pandemic. I have limited visiting relatives and friends; thanks to technology all my social conversations and information is easily transferred through online platforms. I now eat healthy foods and reduced consumption of any foods that may weaken my immune system therefore I now pay more attention to my overall diet than before. I have increased the intensity of my daily exercise. I have also got more time to stay at home therefore availing more time for house chores such as gardening. My academical life has been completely shifted online. I now take lessons and exams online which sometimes may be a little harder considering the unstable internet conditions which sometimes may be slow. All my face-to-face lessons are now conducted over internet apps such as Tencent Meeting. The difficult I have now is that because of the distance learning and the different time zones at the University and my country I now attend almost all lectures at night! I think now I have adapted to manage the difficult schedules of the lectures. To end the pandemic is now the focus of probably the whole scientific community. I suggest that to defeat this virus countries should cooperate, make strategic plans and implement them together.
