possible texts for your essay through the library search systems. This assignment is to take place
following the library session and after the essay parameters have been introduced (week 3-5).

reliability, the essay parameters/topic and/or making comparisons with the sources not
chosen.
● for what purpose the source will be used in the essay in detail
In the book, it is discussed in detail what are the narcissistic pleasures and their
consequences, how narcissism is formed and shaped depend on age periods and how it is
affected by the groups at that stages because the characteristics of all age groups and the way
they are affected by the groups of their environment are quite different. Individual’s existence
in the group that can create a conflict is the one of the significant and mentioned points of the
chapter. In addition, the chapter examines almost all kinds of areas where individuals and
groups are located such as sexuality and love or parental narcissism.
I wanted to chose the book to write because of some reasons. Firstly, the author’s and
my consideration about the issue is the same so I am comfortable when I think about the
subjects. To illustrate, according to Fine (1986), “Healthy narcissism is a sign of a healthy ego;
defensive narcissism is the hallmark of the weak ego” (p. 159) that I have exactly the same idea.
Furthermore, it has a wide range of information that I can use while citing the source. For
instance, I liked the fact that the author evaluated the interact of people and groups by dividing
them into age ranges instead of explaining them in general terms. This indicates that the author
considers situations from multiple perspective. Of course, all of this is because the source is
published as a book, so there is a chance to write the subjects in much more detail and longer
than other sources that I gave their information briefly. In addition, it has an easy-to-read
language. Thus, by comprehending what is being written much more easily, I have easy access
to information that can comment on it.
