Mr. Fisher's 7th grade Science Classes: Week of March 23rd
Organisms Research Project: Due on Monday, March 30
Find two organisms (one plant and one animal) that live in the same habitat. Research to learn
more about the organisms. Create a google slides presentation (7 - 8 slides) that compares and
contrasts the two organisms. The last slide should have links to your research resources on
Habitat: The natural home or environment for an animal or a plant.
Monday 3/23:
Part A: Basic Information
[ ] Describe each organism. What does it look like? How does it act? Etc...
Part B: Classification
[ ] What are their scientific names?
[ ] How are they classified? Kingdom? Phylum? Why does it fit in those categories?
Part C: Cells
[ ] Include a self-made picture or chart showing the similarities and differences between the
plant’s cell and the animal’s cell.
[ ] Include some examples of specialized organs or tissues.
Part D: Energy
[ ] Where does their energy come from? Producer or Consumer? How does it fit in the food
chain?
[ ] Compare photosynthesis and cellular respiration (chart, pictures, or words).
Tuesday 3/24:
Part E: Adaptations
[ ] What is its habitat
[ ] Describe at least one way it adapts to its environment. Why?
Start the Google Slides:
[ ] Include parts A - E in the slides presentation
[ ] Include a slide with a copy of links to research resources
Wednesday 3/25:
[ ] Extra Credit
[ ] Finishing touches on slides presentation
[ ] Share the slides presentation with Mr. Fisher
Extra Credit: Describe its Life Cycle: Does it go through different stages?
