It is a tool that most travel agents used in air, hotel, train, car, or other booking services. It has become the world leader in providing excellent solutions to manage the selling of travel services. Amadeus is well known for its excellent services: ∙ 75 local Amadeus commercial organizations ∙ Currently available in over 215 markets worldwide ∙ also available in Five regional center ∙ 3 Research & Development centers ∙ More than 6,500 employees ∙ More than 100 nationalities in central sites ∙ Controls over 120 airlines from around the world Where is AMADEUS Located? The central sites are in Madrid (Corporate Headquarters & Marketing), Nice (Development) and Erding (Operations). The regional offices assist our sales and marketing offices in marketing, Helpdesk support and customer service. They also coordinate commercial relationships with Amadeus providers in their region. It has a regional headquarters and marketing centers in Miami, Bangkok and Buenos Aires. Introduction to AMADEUS Vista Selling Platform You can book a reservation through the Graphical User Interface (GUI) called Graphical page. You can also access the AMADEUS Vista using the Command page by entering formats or commands. We will discuss the commands later in this module. You can book flights, reserve rooms, cars, cruise, and you can also view information on a full range of travel service. Hints and instructions are also available to guide the new users of the system. Command Page You can use this platform if you are familiar with the command or the Amadeus System Formats. AMADEUS Vista Online Help Displays online help in navigating around the system. AMADEUS Vista Smart Keys Toolbar buttons that send formats automatically. GETTING STARTED Signing In 1. Launch Amadeus Vista. The sign-in window appears. 2. Enter your agent sign and initials. For example: 0001AA 3. Select your duty code from the drop-down list. 4. Enter your password. 5. Enter a password in the New Password field to change your current password. Select the Practice Training check box, if you want to sign in to Practice Training. 8. Click on Sign In. Note: The next time that you sign in, your sign is automatically pre-filled. Sign-In Message 1. Informative messages are displayed when you sign in. 2. Click the icon to show more information otherwise click OK. Signing Out 1. Click on the tab at the bottom of the screen of your work area. 2. Click on Sign-out. Note: You can’t sign out if you have an active Passenger Name Record (PNR) on your work area. Working with the Graphic Page Graphic page is the main area of AMADEUS Vista. You can access most of the AMADESU system functions by clicking the any of the tab menus on the upper part of the AMADEUS work area. Hold your mouse pointer over the menus for a few second if you want to know what is the button for. A tool tip will appear. Graphic Page Tabs PNR TAB: - The first tab you normally see when you open Amadeus Vista. You can use it to create, retrieve, modify and claim PNRs. DOCUMENT TAB: - This feature helps in display, fax or print invoices, itineraries and print tickets. PROFILE TAB: - This can use the Open screen to retrieve traveler or company profiles. You can also add, update and delete profile elements or transfer profile elements to a PNR. CARTAB: - To find out details of rental cars available for passengers traveling to other designations. HOTEL TAB: - To book a hotel or obtain information about hotels and other kinds of accommodation. AMADEUS INSURANCE TAB: - You can review and book various types of travel insurance policies. FARE TAB: - To find fare, prices a PNR or store a fare. QUEUE TAB: - To display queue counts and perform a variety of queue functions including queue messages and printing. FREQUENTLY USED ICONS Clears all fields and reset values to the default Closes the input window Moves to the previous/next page [MU/MD] Reopens the input window Modifies the selected line Deletes the selected line MAKING A RESERVATION Steps to make a simple reservation in graphic page: 1. Create a Passenger Name Record 2. Make an Air Booking 3. Make a meal request 4. Reserving a Hotel 5. Making a Car Booking 6. Price the itinerary 7. Print the itinerary and ticket 8. Save the PNR CREATING A PNR FROM A PROFILE 1. Click on the PNR Tab 2. Click on the profile sub-tab. 3. Click on to activate the dual availability input screen. 4. Enter the details for the return flight. By default, the From field, To field and departure date are the same as the outbound flight, but you can modify any field if necessary. 5. Click on Search to display the Availability screen. Note: The outbound and return availability displays are shown on the same screen. Use the toolbar of each availability to move to the previous, next day or to scroll through the screens. 6. Click on the classes of service for the flights he wants to book. 7. Most of the information is pre-filled, however, you can still modify the data according to your client’s requests. 2. From the input screen that appears, enter any other booking details if necessary, then click on Rates. 5. From the Single Hotel Display, select the appropriate rate code. 6. In the Ticket sub-tab, select the ticket options and the type of itinerary that you want to print. 3. Click on send. Saving the PNR 1. Click on the PNR tab. 2. Click on the PNR Save . To access other save options, click on the down arrow. 3. Select the Save option that you want to use. 4.
