Story
A woman who is a housewife spends day and night looking after her husband and kids. She has a
strong desire to start a small restaurant but doesn’t have enough resources to do so. So, on
Diwali her husband surprises her with her own small restaurant.
Script
The woman gets her children ready, prepares breakfast for her kids and husband, and waves
them goodbye while standing at the door. She comes in and starts using her phone. Scrolling
down a list of recipes. Something clicks in her mind and she decided to cook that. she goes to the
kitchen, ties her dupatta to her side, and starts cooking. She enjoyed each and every step of it,
smelled the food at every step, and enjoyed the scent of each ingredient. in the evening when
her husband came, she puts the dish on the table and after tasting it he gets shocked. He took
another bite and then couldn’t stop eating. He tells her that this is so perfectly made, that you
can become a professional chef. She smiled and then becomes sad. She walks into the kitchen
and holds the piggy bank she has been using to collect money to start a restaurant.
The husband saw her from the distance and could see how passionate she is about starting her
business. But he was helpless. The days passed by and every day she used to check the piggy
bank, but it was far away from being full. She talks to herself, “even if it gets full, this alone can’t
get me my own restaurant”
One day, the family is sitting and watching TV, an ad came telling the story of a woman who
started her own restaurant and people just love what she makes. She turns the tv off and walks
away saying “I don’t know when I’ll see this day.” she stood by the window and sobs silently.
So, one day, her mother calls and asks about her plans for Dewali. The woman replied, “mom, I’ll
celebrate Diwali once I have my own restaurant, I can’t spend the extra money right now.” The
helpless husband spends time talking to so many people to come up with a solution, visiting
several places including banks, real estate offices, and many more. (you can show a Utkarsh bank
board as well during all this). But, he seemed upset everytime he stepped out.
It’s Dewali and the husband takes the family out. He stops the car, holds her wife’s hand, and
took her to an outdoor restaurant beautifully set up with lights and furniture. Their wife says “no
one is eating here so I think this place is not that good, we should try some other one.” Okay,
wait sit here while I search for a good place. Suddenly a waiter comes with a plate in his hand
holding a note that says “please visit our kitchen” the wife shows her husband and the husband
says “let’s go and see.” They walk towards the kitchen which looks dark and silent. She holds her
husband’s hand and suddenly the lights turned on, there was a ribbon on the kitchen door, and
all the close friends and relatives were standing there.
Husband hugs her and gives her the scissor, “this is yours, my love, now fulfill your dreams”. The
wife is standing there shocked, smiling, and crying all at the same time. she hugs her husband
and then cuts the ribbon, closes her eyes, and says “dreams do come true.”
