C. MOTIVATION
“FORMING NUMBERS”
DIRECTION: Form 3 groups with 5 students each. Give the 0-9
number cards prepared. As the teacher gives a number, the groups will
form the given numbers as fast as they could by posting it in correct
order on the board. The group that can form the correct number first
will chant their prepared short chant like (ahu ahu/ pak na pak ) gets
the points. Then the game will go on until all the numbers prepared by
the teacher have been formed.

“Math Quiz Bee Show”
The teacher will form 3 groups with 5 members each and will put
a bell in the middle of the groups. The teacher will flash the
number and the goal of each group is to identify first the value of
the number being classified as ones, tens, hundreds, thousands,
ten thousand, hundred thousand, million, ten million and hundred
million. The first group that will achieve 5 points will win the
grand prize.

a. PRESENTATION OF OBJECTIVES
At the end of this period, students must be able
to give the place value of each digit numbers up to 10 000 000,
read and write numbers up to 10 000 000 in symbols and in
words and observe accuracy in reading and writing numbers.
b. LESSON PROPER
The place value tells you the value of each digit in a number. In
our numeration system, the digits that we use are any of the
symbols 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9.

The number 3 is in the ones place and it has a value of 3.

Large numbers can be read and written using place value chart. Let
us consider the population of the Philippines.
