COURSE DESCRIPTION
: This is a 3-unit course that introduces and explores
literatures for children and adolescent with emphasis on interpreting high quality fiction,
non-fiction, and poetry across time and space.
COURSE OUTCOMES:
1. Understand the significance of literature to children and adolescents.
2. Explore high quality literary works in different forms and genres best for children and
adolescents.
3. Interpret literary works for children and adolescent using literary theories and
standards; and
4. Write a literary work, in any form and genre, suited for children and adolescent
learners.
