We are looking for a bright and analytical candidate to join our Reinsurance modeling
group based in firm’s office in Hyderabad, India. This team works closely with
underwriters and supports them with catastrophe modeling of
insurance/reinsurance/retrocession contracts. We are looking for self-motivated
individual contributors to work in a multifaceted role that offers broad exposure to the
firm’s reinsurance operations.
WHAT YOU’LL DO DAY-TO-DAY:

Undertake catastrophe modeling to understand and analyze the underlying risk
and calculate expected loss on a per-contract and portfolio basis, using a
combination of vendor and proprietary tools and techniques.

Interact directly with brokers on questions related to modeling of contracts.

Develop
a
sound
understanding
of
various
reinsurance
structures
(per
occurrence, XOL, aggregate, etc.) and instrument types, such as industry loss
warranties, cat bonds, and reinsurance and retrocession contracts.

Work closely with underwriters across different offices to provide meaningful and
actionable data analytics support.

Develop a sound understanding of natural catastrophe modeling software and
keeping abreast of model updates impacting the results.

Undertake portfolio maintenance by incorporating deal flow and generating
portfolio reports on a regular basis.

Monitor natural catastrophes occurring across the globe on a daily basis,
undertake an assessment of its impact on the portfolio, and report it to
underwriters.

Verify and maintain relevant information related to claims and generate relevant
reports for use by underwriters.

Work on developing of new analytical tools and look for ways to optimize the
existing processes.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
The ideal candidate should have:

A graduate degree in engineering or a postgraduate degree or diploma in
insurance or business management with zero to three years of experience.

Good quantitative and analytical skills, robust oral and written communication
skills, and keen attention to detail are prerequisites for this role.

Knowledge of vendor models (AIR and/or RMS) and programming languages such
as Python and SQL will be helpful but are not required.
