Application Guide of SIGMAGUARD™ CSF 650 Use of PPG solvent free as filler/surfaces INTRODUCTION: SigmaGuard CSF 650 is a two-component, solvent-free, amine-cured epoxy coating can be use as filler/surfacer. The surface and/or filler are used for the preparation of tank walls, tank bottoms, steel plate overlaps, seams, welds area, concrete surfaces where pits effected. It is self-coating enabling high film to build over critical area such as edges and welds. SURFACE PRE-TREATMENTS: • • • High pressure water washing to minimum at 3000 Psi, oil/ grease should be removed by solvent cleaning in accordance with SSPC-SP1, Free of other contaminations. Steel: blast cleaned to ISO-Sa2½. Concrete: SSPC SP 13 / NACE No. 6 – power sanding or manual sanding PAINT APPLICATION: 1. Correct mixing ratio Part A and Part B of the Sigmaguard CSF 650, properly mix with heavy duty agitator. 2. Then add fine silica sand to mixed SigmaGuard CSF 650- as pit filler to fill the concrete voids or small holes effectively. The sand needs to be dry and loose form (no lumps) for better mixing properties. 3. Mixing ratio is recommended: • 1 part by weight of ready mixed solvent free (SigmaGuard CSF 650) epoxy coating. • 4-5 parts by weight of silica sand • Properly mix with heavy agitator • Should almost have the consistency of a solid paste or clay. Note: a small deviation from above the mixing ratios may be practical, depending on material and temperature. Following application, the coating gradually penetrates the pitting after 5 to 15 minutes, all cavities have been filled and the surface can be scraped clear of excess material. Application of the surfacer or filler can be done by Spatula or flexible squeegee. 5. After surface thoroughly dry (16 hours in 30°C) recommended to sand down to make surface evenness. 6. Continue application as per coating system scheme. 7. Paints application shall be in accordance to the latest Product Data Sheet CAUTION: When used in coating materials follow all precautions, limitations and safety instructions of the original coating used.
