What we recommend:
•
Cubby House Floor/Base. We strongly suggest that ‘Alice’ be fixed on a timber joisted marine
plywood floor or concrete/paved level floor. Base/Floor area to be no less than 2290mm x
1590m. It is imperative that floor is Level.
•
External and Internal painting of your Cubby, either prior to assembly (recommended) or within
1-2 weeks of assembly to avoid timber movement due to exposure to weather elements.
•
*Note: Take Care when painting around perspex windows, as paint cannot be removed with
solvent and will damage perspex
•
Immediately after assembly you waterproof all joins by using silicon sealant which can be
purchased from your local hardware store
•
Due to the size and weight of the cubby house panels we recommend that a minimum 2
capable people jointly assemble this cubby house. Do not attempt to assemble without
assistance of second capable person.
•
In our experience, once base/floor area is prepared, assembly of Cubby House can take up to 1
½ to 2 hours by 2 capable people (using a cordless powered screw driver)
•

Note: As your Cubby is made from Natural Timber, we recommend fully painting your
Cubby (inside and out) either prior to assembly (recommended) or within 1-2 weeks of
assembly to minimise natural weathering in the outdoors.
Please note that Timber will expand and contract with the differing weather elements
and adjustments to doors and windows may need to be made from time to time as
needed. To ensure the best possible result, please ensure silicon sealant is used to seal
joins. Please check your cubby during/after extreme weather elements and ensure it is
well maintained for longevity.
Maintenance of the Cubby is the responsibility of the Purchaser.
Please contact HipKids Customer Care at any time at customercare@hipkids.com.au
for assistance or guidance regarding maintenance of your HipKids Cubby.
