EXCEL Academy Virtual Learning Criteria Purpose: To prepare students to EXCEL in character and education for life. Rules: In order for high school students to remain in our virtual setting, students must be in compliance with staying on track in their learning. We will follow the rules of BAG (Behavior, Attendance, Grades when determining schedule changes to in-person learning.): BEHAVIOR Students must abide by the Remote Learning Behavioral Cycle. Once they reach 4 referrals, a Chronic Discipline meeting will occur. During the Chronic Meeting, their schedule will be changed to in-person learning. ATTENDANCE 5 or more UNEXCUSED absences will result to their schedule being changed to in-person learning. GRADES Grades are of the utmost importance, especially as students gain credits in high school. If a student obtains a 59 or lower in two or more classes, their schedule will be changed to in-person learning. ADDITIONAL NOTES If the student has been placed to in-person learning and does not show up, they will be counted absent. If they are absent for 10 days, they will be dropped from enrollment for non-attendance. Students in the following categories do not qualify for in-person/on campus instruction: Students assigned a virtual setting per a Henry County Schools Hearing Officer/Office of Student Conduct or those that have been found to be in violation of a Level 4 infraction per the Henry County Schools Student and Parent Handbook.
