Children, last time we have discussed about the little
information about compound words. Now, we will
discuss further about it but first let us check your
understanding on compound words.
Who knows what is compound word class?
(A compound word is made up of two or more
words joined together to make a new word.)
Very Good! Is there anyone who can give me an
example of a compound word?

Motivation:
Class, before we proceed to our main discussion we will
be having a game called:
“Guessing Game or Pinoy Henyo” wherein the students
will be divided into two groups and whose groups that
will guess the word in shortest time wins. It is a game
wherein a member will guess what is in the flashcard that
was stick and their foreheads and one will be their guide
saying “Yes, No, Maybe until they got the right word in 1
minute.

Discussion
A compound word is made from two smaller words, it
makes sentences shorter and easier to understand. If
you know the meaning of the two smaller words, you
can usually guess the meaning of the compound word.
However, there are notable exceptions like butterfly,
dragonfly, crossword, blindfold etc.
