Praise the LORD! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who greatly delights in his commandments!2 His offspring will be
mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Psalms 112:1-2
My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments,
2 for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you.
3 Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man.
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
7 Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil.
8 It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones. Proverbs 3:1-8
Command and teach these things. 12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the
believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. 13 Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of
Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. 14 Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of
elders laid their hands on you. 1 Timothy 4:11-14
14 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, 1 Peter 1:14
20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. Colossians 3:20
20 Brothers, do not be children in your thinking. Be infants in evil, but in your thinking be mature. 1 Corinthians 14:20

Deuteronomy 6:4-9
4 “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. 5 You
shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all
your soul and with all your might. 6 And these words that I
command you today shall be on your heart. 7 You shall teach
them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when
you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and
when you lie down, and when you rise. 8 You shall bind them
as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between
your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your
house and on your gates.

Love the LORD our God
Introduction
A single virtue that would bring the church to complete unity
is LOVE.
By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you
have love for one another.” John 13:35
Love that God requires is intimate love for Him. An undivided
and impartial love where our love for one another clings.
When love for God is cultivated in the hearts of our children,
they will never fail to honor us.
When we mentor and exemplified God’s love for them, a
lasting relationship starts to solidify.
Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old
he will not depart from it.
Children Learn What They Live by Dorothy Law Nolte
If children live with criticism, they learn to condemn.
If children live with hostility, they learn to fight.
If children live with ridicule, they learn to be shy.
If children live with shame, they learn to feel guilty.
These learnings in YELLOW FONT are by-products of a heart
without love.
Children Learn What They Live by Dorothy Law Nolte
If children live with encouragement, they learn confidence.
If children live with tolerance, they learn to be patient.
If children live with praise, they learn to appreciate.
If children live with acceptance, they learn to love.
If children live with approval, they learn to like themselves.
If children live with honesty, they learn truthfulness.
If children live with security, they learn to have faith in
themselves and others.
If children live with friendliness, they learn the world is a nice
place in which to live.
These learnings can only be harvested in a heart filled with love.

all your might. 6 And these words that I command you today shall be
on your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children…
1. God understands the critical effects of sin.
Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline drives
it far from him. Proverbs 22:15

The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child left to himself brings
shame to his mother. Proverbs 29:15

shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
1. Minister to our children intentionally.
Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in
the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Ephesians 6:4

2. Exemplify unfazed “love of God” before our children. V.8
It is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed,
but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honored in my
body, whether by life or by death. Philippians 1:20
Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good?
1 Peter 3:13

3. Publicly declare our sincere “love for God”. V.9
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for
salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the
Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for
faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.” Romans 1:16-17
CONCLUSION
The work in the Lord we do today determines the future of CT
Church.
When we work for ourselves, we have never been true
believers.
But when we work in our family and as a family in the Lord,
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our
lives, and we shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
Psalms 23:6
