Troubleshooting Part Quality Abrasive Delivery System The abrasive flow directly affects machine cut performance Check the condition of the following: 1. Dwells times • Control jet on/off timing for each pierce • Improper timing can cause the abrasive system to clog or cut poorly 2. Orifice size and condition • Change the water volume exiting the cutting head • Too much volume leads to water in the abrasive line 3. Abrasive line air leaks • Air pressure loss affects abrasive flowrate • Replace abrasive tubing if worn of damaged 4. Improper metering disk size • Can starve or choke the system; Use the proper size Part Quality Poor cut quality is generally caused by improper settings or the wrong edge quality selected Verify these setting are correct in FlowCUT: 1. Orifice size 2. Mixing tube size 3. Cutting pressure • Pumps with mechanical pressure controls must match the pump gauge pressure to the value input in the setup screen 4. Abrasive flowrate Sample jet setup, Your settings may be different High-pressure Leaks Weep holes help identify issues • Located on all high-pressure fittings throughout the system • Leaking weep holes will damage high-pressure components High-pressure component failure and leaks cause pressure loss during cutting and will affect part quality
