1. Nations explored to: “increase their power and influence by gaining more territory, more
resources and more wealth.” So, if wealth means power, then how did gaining more
territory help nations acquire it?
The territory they claim means they can use trade and sell whatever resources there is in
that area
2. According to map 8, which country stood to gain more wealth? Why?

them Spanish customs?” Why do you think this was so important or beneficial - to Spain?
To increase the population they had and spread more christanity

They sought to reform the English church

Locate Portugal on page 4 map. Explain why they might been the first nation to venture to sea?
They are right next to the ocean so it would’ve made it easier for then to set sail

might have been beneficial to one country over another?

so significant to England?
Jamestown was the begginings of England future development
