The Analysis and Realization of Human Connections and Progress
853 words
What separates people are countries, cultures, borders, and ideals; however, we
are humans and social beings. Globalization is a utopia from our far past of tribal barter
and trade and quarrels over resources (Karnataka, 2021). Globalization has
simultaneously united us and has put us in a never-ending competition to see who can
globalize better.
Reading the article gives a better understanding of globalization's overall concept.
The article's first concept clarified the different points of view on the meaning of
globalization from the eyes of different professions (Claudio & Abinales, 2018); this
discrepancy is since globalization is not a black or white but a grey area because people
have different experiences. (Brazalote, 2022). The second realization is that globalization
is a natural process (Brazalote, 2022); humans want to connect with other humans and
instinctively spread their influences to other humans. It is human nature because of
evolution, making humans a social species; we naturally expand and connect with our
fellow species. (The cooperative human, 2018) The final learning is that globalization is
a sign of unity throughout humanity; however, it is also a silent war left unnoticed.
Globalization, if understood, we see that globalization pits companies from different
countries to compete on who can be more sustainable, innovative, and efficient (Angel
Gurría, 2008). The competition gives the impression that globalization is an indirect arms
race on who can outlive the other, which leads to smaller companies having a more
difficult time while mega-corporations sit at the top. This competition is unnoticeable for

an ordinary person; however, it is always happening in the background, and the typical
person is affected by it every day, whether indirectly or directly.
The article touches upon many topics; however, some are left unclear. The first
topic would be the anti-globalists, their views on globalization, and why they are against
the influence of globalization. Globalization seems to be a step into progress where we
can flourish as a species, and it is intriguing to know that there are arguments against it.
The second topic is if globalization has an end goal. Experts say that globalization is
inevitable and suitable for everyone the longer it persists (Brazalote, 2022). however, how
long can globalization go on, and does it also have an inevitable end? The final topic is if
globalization can change throughout time. Globalization has persisted as early as 1452
(National Geographic Society, 2021); do globalization's nuances change throughout time,
and is the globalization that was happening back in 1452 the same globalization we are
experiencing today.
The text gives us a better understanding of globalization and has enlightened me
on many topics that I had different views about before. The first of these views is that
globalization has more than one meaning. I used to think that globalization had one
meaning to everyone who would come across the term; however, I now know that
depending on your profession, globalization can have a whole slew of meanings. The
second view is that globalization is not only a black or white but a grey area where it is
good for some people and bad for others. When I first understood the word globalization,
I thought it was only the expansion of humans to reach and influence other humans;
2
however, now I know that globalization has many small details that you must look deeper
into to see (Devictor, 2014). The final view is that you can experience globalization in
many ways that are not normally viewed as globalization. I used to think that globalization
can only be experienced through talking to people in other countries or traveling to other
countries, but now I know that even being an avid consumer of imported products is
experiencing globalization (Brazalote, 2022).
The article gives a lot of information, and with a lot of information stems more
questions. The first question is, what will happen to globalization at its finale if it does
have a finale? If humans were able to homogenize the global outreach, would
globalization end, or would it still exist but change. The next question would there be a
way to further investigate the problems of globalization so that we can improve it for the
better. Globalization has been going on for a long time; however, it still could have room
to improve since it is far from perfect. Finally, what things are because of globalization
that normal people do not notice if any? Globalization happens all around us, and it is not
hard to think that some things that you don't realize could globalization be a major
contributor to your life that you don't notice actively.
Globalization is a driving force in human progress in that it spreads the vast
cultures, ideals, and products to people who normally do not have access to them easily.
However, it is also not fully developed in that, now, it is neither bad nor good, but a
median, due to its nature, must have different experiences based on the person.
3
Therefore, globalization is one of the greatest feats of mankind and is continuing to evolve
for the better as time passes.
