Learning objectives:

To introduce UN’s organization and work

To learn about the work of Secretary-General
3.
To understand UN’s role in globalization
Teaching suggestions
Preferably, lessons on UN should take place in the multi-media computer room so that
students can have access to information on the UN website.
1.
Conduct a quiz on the UN emblem and its meaning.
2.
Introduce UN’s work and its subsidiary organizations.
3.
Encourage students to visit the websites of the related organizations.
4.
Enter UN’s website and learn about the role played by UN in globalization. This
part may be given as homework if time runs out.
5.
Activity: Divide students into groups. Each group selects one of the following
topics to work on, so that they can demonstrate their creativity (Activity 2),
develop their skills to convert texts into tables and forms (Activity 1), and their
skills in writing simple reports (Activity 3).
