Hamida Cali BSA – 203A 11/30/22 Price discounts are commonly used in the business world as incentives for customers. How may this practice (or its misuse) be deemed unethical? Customers have a right to assume the most favorable price possible, but discounting causes a slew of issues for industry leaders. Finally, these issues can have such a negative influence on profit margins, service quality, and your notoriety that they may endanger their business. Better options include improving your ability to demonstrate the value of your solution, removing useless elements from their solution to meet the customer's demands, or moving away from an agreement that will not be profitable. It may be unethical when used as a forcible tactic to entice customers to buy early and thus improving profitability in a given year. This would be accurate if the primary goal is to increase profits. There seem to be undoubtedly valid reasons to offer discounts, but it has become unethical whenever the intension is by using discounts to boost sales.
