What inspires me? Whenever someone asks me what inspires me, I always think of scouts. The energy and motivation I get after just an hour spent with my scout friends are priceless. It gives young people an opportunity to create things they want, an opportunity to act, to be responsible, to teach younger scouts everything from first aid to techniques of surviving in nature. Scouts teach independence, solidarity and we fight against stereotypes, they teach you to be responsible to yourself, community and transcendent (it can be either god or just things you believe in, you can be any religion to be a scout). My list of things I want to do as a scout is getting longer and longer every day. It contains things such as go stargazing all the way to attend specialist courses or the ones for leaders (woodbadge) and attend international camps (this year I am (hopefully) going to Poland). But scouting didn’t fit any of the options. Few days ago I was painting with watercolors (now when I have time) and I decided to paint lake where we camp in the summer. The first photograph I saw on internet was this one from Manca Korelc (credit the artist!) and I painted it. This is how I beat a serious disease called campsickness (=taborotožje) while I am stuck at home.
