PROJECT SUMMARY School Based Management (SBM) is a DepEd’s thrust that decentralizes the decision-making from the Central Office and field offices to individual schools and learning centers to enable them to better respond to their specific education needs. Through SBM, teachers and school heads have the authority to formulate their own professional development plans consistent with the organization’s goals and standard. Teachers can adapt classroom strategies to meet the diverse needs of the learners. We are doing this project because based on the assessment of the SBM MOV’s, we found out that there are files that are incomplete, disorganized and missing. It is also the reason why the SBM is still in level 2. With the help of every member, we the SBM Coordinator and Co-coordinator launched the Project UPGRADE (Upgrading Proper Group of Records and Accurate Documents Enhancement) which created a proper management on collection, keeping, filing and updating of files for each SBM principle in Julian A. Pastor Memorial Elementary School. The project has been implemented year-round as the needs of the teachers are all throughout the year. Sources of funds were school fund, donations from alumni and other stakeholders. Considering the needed materials, this project cost Php 6,000.00. V. In addition, School-Based Management (SBM) is a system of public education which is systematic and consistent decentralization to the school level of authority and responsibility to make decisions on significant matters related to school operations within a centrally determined framework of goals, policies, curriculum, standards and accountabilities. It is therefore of paramount importance to keep track of the school’s levels of SBM practice for the provision of relevant technical assistance, and/or the development of enabling mechanisms for the sustainability and reliability of existing best practices. However, during the validation in SY 2020-2021, our SBM of practice still in level 2. Julian A. Pastor Memorial Elementary School, in its desire to continuously improve itself to better serve its stakeholders embarked on improving the process through Project UPGRADE in SBM (Upgrading Proper Group of Records and Accurate Documents Enhancement in School-Based Management) Project UPGRADE SBM is a project innovation to the SBM implementation in Julian A. Pastor Memorial Elementary School through creating a proper management on collection, keeping, filing and updating of files for each SBM principle to attain and increase the level based on the Means of verification.
