By having this information, DashIND can look to further optimize its product offering by implementing solutions to the shop owners’ challenges that might not already be a current feature of the app. As a result, DashIND can iterate to improve its app. What commission percentage range is fair for DashIND to take from sales that occur through our app? Significance: DashIND will need to take a percentage of sales to operate the app and service. Marketplace apps can do well or not so well depending on how much they take from the sales of its sellers on the platform. Being transparent of h ow much commission we would need to take to breakeven and asking the launch partners what a fair amount to markup would be increases trust amongst sellers and allows them to voice their opinion on what they deem as a “fair” percentage. 1 Customer Acquisition Plan Surveys Surveys can be used to gauge the level of interest (1-10) in using DashIND amongst potential shoppers. Surveys can be disseminated by current and future shop owners to their current customer base. DashIND can partner with launch partners to have them provide discounts to consumers that complete the survey. The survey would have an option to use DashIND by entering a contact email and phone number. If DashIND wants to test the app with beta-testers, download links would be sent to those that opted in for using DashIND, via the contact information gathered. 2 Potential Shoppers Discussion Plan What are the top 3 features you look for in a marketplace app? Significance: Shoppers love simplicity and ease of use. However, with several other marketplace apps shoppers have access to, it is important to establish what shoppers’ favorite features are to ensure DashIND is providing a solid user experience for its shoppers. This is also crucial because it can help DashIND differentiate from its competitor’s by making the features the shoppers want even better than they are from other marketplace apps. What would make you use DashIND over other apps and services? Significance: Although this can be viewed as a repetitive question, it offers key insights that the previous question does not address. For one, the shopper’s response gives DashIND a complete picture on costs of switching. In a marketplace app, buyer and seller rating is often a key component when it comes to reputation. All of this is lost when a buyer or seller switches platforms, hence this is a cost of switching. Beyond capturing new buyers and sellers who have never used marketplace apps, DashIND should also investigate how they can capture the interest of buyers and sellers who alread y use existing marketplace apps. Maybe it is the unique specialization of the Midwest that might entice buyers and sellers to switch or perhaps something else entirely.
