1. CALIBRATION OF STORAGE TANKS
Calibration is the science of determining the exact true volume of a containment system
corresponding to a certain measurement value. It is key to obtaining accurate measurements
of quantity. Without accurate calibration tables, even the best gauging systems and the most
accurate manual measurements are of little value. With Atlantic Surveyors as your calibration

3. TANK CLEANING

4. TOPOGRAPHICAL SURVEY
Topographical Survey of land determines the relative locations and specifications of
natural and manmade features within an area of land surface by measuring
horizontal distances, differences in elevation and directions.
5. STOCKPILE VOLUME COMPUTATION
We provide our expert services in conducting survey stockpiles for the purpose of
calculating volume and tonnage.
We use modern state-of-the-art equipment of optical measurement. Total Station is an
instrument of laser technology trusted for accurate results and precise measurement of
horizontal and vertical angles.

6. HYDROSTATIC TEST
We perform Hydrostatic (Hydro) Testing of tank lorries in order to check the strength and
leaks. Hydro tests are performed before commissioning of new tank lorries and on annual
basis thereafter.
To test the soundness of welded joints and associated pressure parts of the tasnk.
To prove the strength of the tank pressure parts at a pressure greater than the working
pressure of the tank at ambient temperature.
The hydraulic test of tank lorries is carried out at the following conditions / situations.

8. CALIBRATION OF TANK LORRIES
There are around 15000 tank trucks operating across Pakistan for transportation of liquid
fuel. These tank trucks play pivotal role in fulfilling the fuel requirement of power plants,
industry, commercial transport and general public vehicles.
PSO alone has over 50 percent share in the overall business of OMCs. Thus, PSO has
country’s largest fleet of tank trucks comprising over 8500 tank trucks.
Cargo received and delivered by these 8500 tank trucks is measured on the basis of
CALIBRATION CHART necessarily available with each tank truck.

DRAUGHT SURVEY
Draught Survey is a calculation of the weight of cargo loaded or unloaded to or from a ship.
This technique is based on Archimedes' principle and is mainly used for measurement of bulk
cargo. The Parent Company has decades-long experience in conducting Draught Surveys.
We have conducted tens of hundreds of Draught Surveys for Urea, Fertilizer, DAP, Wheat,
Coal and Cement.
12. PRE-SHIPMENT INSPECTION
Also called PSI, is an important and reliable quality control method for ensuring that the
goods supplied by the seller to the buyer strictly complies with the contracted specifications.
After ordering a number of articles, the buyer lets a third-party quantity and quality control
the ordered goods before they are dispatched to him. Normally an independent inspection
company is assigned with the task of PSI, as it is in the interest of the buyer that an
independent third party verifies the quantity and quality. This way the buyer makes sure, he
gets the goods he paid for. Pre-shipment inspection can greatly avoid the risk of fraud and
ensure that clients get quality products from suppliers. The pre-shipment inspection is
utilized for:
• Checking the total amount of goods and packing
• Controlling the quality and/or consistency of goods
• Verifying compliance with the standards of the destination country.
13. PRE-PURCHASE OF VESSELS/SHIPS
A pre-purchase survey is an in-depth, thorough evaluation of all the vessel’s systems. When
conditions permit, the inspection includes operational testing of all equipment. The vessel
must be hauled out of the water for hull inspection. A sea trial is also highly recommended
and is generally included in the cost of the survey when conditions permit and the sea trial is
conducted on the same day as the inspection. Other inspections include rigging, machinery
and electrical systems. Given today’s complicated vessel system, specialists should be
consulted when circumstances dictate such as with large diesel-powered machinery and
complicated electronic systems. A Pre-purchase Survey report is designed to assist you in
post survey negotiations, scheduling required repairs, completing routine and preventive
maintenance as well as making decisions for upgrades in the near and distant future. A prepurchase survey is a systematic, thorough, and operational evaluation of the entire vessel's
structure, systems and equipment that includes, Hull, deck, & structure, Machinery
installations, Fuel, Exhaust and Electrical systems, USCG-mandated safety gear, cargo gear
and Operational test of monitoring.
14. OFF-HIRE/ON HIRE OF VESSELS/SHIPS
When hiring a vessel, the charterers have the
responsibility for returning the vessel to the
owner in much the same condition as she was
in at the beginning of the charter, including the
quantity of Bunkers onboard. To ensure this, it
is usual for the parties to retain the services of
a surveyor at the beginning / completion of the
charter to record the condition principally of
the cargo gear, the holds and ship's structure in the vicinity of the cargo working areas. A full
report is generated. Documentation/ on hire status report, including color photography if
required of any vessel damage noted, similarly for vessels completing a charter, an off-hire
survey is conducted, and a full report generated.
15. OFF-HIRE/ON HIRE OF CONTAINERS
ATLANTIC SURVEYORS (PVT.) LTD specializes in providing inspections on tank containers,
reefers and box containers, providing the most common services, in addition to a wide range
of specialized services. These services include periodic 2½ and 5 years inspections, gas free
inspections, wall washes, lab-analyses and insurance assistance. If a tank passes the test a
certificate is issued stating that the container can be in-service for a specific period of time.
Tank Container, Rail Tank Car and Box Container Inspections, all common and special surveys
are performed. Examples of these surveys are on-hire surveys, off-hire surveys, cleanliness
inspections and for the rail tank cars, verification. All the reporting is provided electronically
and is also stored on our servers. The protected, user friendly, database allows you to search
your reports over the years.

BUNKERS SURVEY
Bunker surveys offer an independent and
impartial quantity measurement service for
marine fuels. We provide comprehensive
documentation for each survey to support any
shortage claims or quality disputes. Our bunker
quality and quantity survey is known to be the
most thorough fuel measurement service in the
market and involves:

18. LNG AND LPG SURVEY
This consists of quality & quantity surveys of
Liquefied Petroleum Gases and Liquefied Natural
Gas vessels with supervision of Pipeline transfers
and calibration of Storage Tanks.
LNG is liquefied natural gas, which is the very cold
liquid form of natural gas. LNG carriers are
generally specialized ships transporting LNG at its
atmospheric pressure boiling point of
approximately -162-degree C, depending on the
cargo grade. LNG carriers were typically in the range 80-135,000 m3 up until 2006 while
ATLANTIC SURVEYORS (PVT.) LTD was the first company in Pakistan who inspected the LPG
vessel back in 1993 and never looked back ever since.

20. POST STUFFING INSPECTION
• The doors and, if applicable, roof covering have been carefully closed.
• Closures are secured with metal and other seals in order to reduce the risk of theft.
• If the cargo is covered with tarpaulins in special containers: the tarpaulins are securely
fastened.
• Old adhesive labels have been removed. For refrigerated containers with refrigeration
unit and heat-able tank containers: the correct temperature has been set. For refrigerated
containers, the temperature recorder is running and the temperature is displayed.
21. HATCH INSPECTION
Hold and hatch inspection is part of a larger service that ATLANTIC SURVEYORS (PVT.) LTD.
provides to assure that the shipped material will be received in the same condition as when
it was loaded. Buyers or sellers can order visual inspection of the hold prior to loading. This
gives both parties the confidence that the cargo will not be contaminated by material already
in the hold, or altered in any way by vessel deficiencies. Our inspectors will immediately
report any abnormalities to the appropriate authority. Digital photographic documentation
is also provided. Certificates of inspection are provided upon completion of the job, thereby
minimizing transit losses.
22. CONTAINERS INSPECTION
Containers Stuffing/De stuffing
Before packing inspection involves the inspection and checking of container inside and
outside where the following are checked and verified.
Outside the container:
There are parameters and specifications check during the container inspection from outside of
the containers, i.e. No holes or cracks in walls or roof, Doors operate properly, closing devices
operate properly, no adhesive labels from the previous cargo, e.g. IMO placards, for flat racks:
stanchions (if ordered) are complete and correctly fitted. For 40' flat racks: all lashing belts
are present, for open-top containers: roof bows are complete and correctly fitted, for opentop containers: tarpaulins are undamaged and fit properly; ends of tarpaulin ropes are
undamaged; all roof eyes are present, for hard-top containers: roof is undamaged, roof
locking mechanism fits and operates properly.
Inside the Container:
For inside inspection of the container there are parameters need to be considered, i.e. Container
is watertight. Test method: enter container, close both doors tightly and look for incoming
light (e.g. through cracks, holes, door gaskets etc.), Container interior is absolutely dry. (Wipe
up any condensation or white frost in order to avoid corrosion and moisture damage of the
cargo.), Container is clean, free of cargo residues and neutral in odor, No nails or other
protrusions, which could damage the cargo.
23. INSURANCE SURVEY

26. COLLATERAL MANAGEMENT SERVICES (MUCADDAM)

(d) Close liaison is maintained with the Bank to ensure smooth running of the pledge. Any
unusual behavior by the borrowers on site is reported to the bank to assist the bank in
their decision-making.
(e) Bank’s Board, Stock Register, Bin Cards, Locks and Stickers (as when required) are
placed on the site.
(f) A team of inspectors regularly visits the sites for the purpose of inspection. They submit
report of their findings / non-compliances (if any) to the main office.
 Inspection of Hypothecated Stock
We carry out inspection of stocks on behalf of Banks all over the country, through our
qualified and experienced inspectors.
On receipt of assignment, our inspector visits the premises and conducts physical stocktaking.
The inspector also checks safe custody & security arrangements, visual quality and
marketability of the stock.
The report of inspector’s findings is submitted to the Bank in the required format.
