While I have only recently embarked on my civilian career journey, my heart has always been in aviation. As an Apache
Helicopter Pilot and Public Affairs Officer in the U.S. Army, I gained extensive experience in communication, problemsolving, leadership, adaptability, and administrative expertise – all skills that are directly transferable to the Sourcing
Specialist role in human resources.
The role of a Sourcing Specialist, as outlined in your job description, involves developing and supporting policies and
processes to enhance operational efficiencies and service delivery. I firmly believe that my experience in the military has
equipped me with a strong foundation in these areas. During my tenure as a Captain, I was responsible for overseeing
complex operations, ensuring seamless communication, and implementing efficient administrative processes. These
experiences have not only honed my problem-solving and leadership skills but have also instilled in me the ability to thrive
in dynamic environments.
As a Public Affairs Officer, I led and mentored a brilliant team of professionals and had the opportunity to tell the Army
story. I produced strategic content to strengthen and maintain our Units’ public image, networked and hosted VIPs from
various government entities and managed all aspects of coordination for numerous large-scale events. My military
experience has also helped me to perfect my ability to maintain my resiliency under pressure, handle multiple tasks with
ease, and effectively collaborate as part of a team.

 Spearheaded planning & coordination for monthly organizational events including Congressional and VIP Visits,
Community Volunteer Events, Family-Soldier Events, Military Formals, and more. Secured event venues, vetted and
scheduled event speakers, networked with potential VIP attendees, and managed event budgets ranging from $0
to $100,000 for events ranging from 50 to 1,000+ attendees, exhibiting adaptability and resourcefulness as a
problem-solver.
 Liaised between the Military and media outlets, such as MSNBC and CNN, during key events including The Red Hill
