A dependent clause is an incomplete sentence. Example: ● To the bus ● In the city ● Around the town June 26th- Basic grammar rules The dependent clauses we looked at before were all prepositions( words that describe a direction, time, place, or relationship between two nouns). This is the most common form! In the school, I found many friends. Around 5:00pm, I leave my workplace. To combine an independent and dependent clause, a comma must be used. ^^ In this sentence, why did I use a comma? ^^ Let’s try to make some ourselves. Between the two independent clauses add A COMMA AND FANBOY. Another use of this is to combine an independent clause and a dependent clause. Let’s identify the clauses used.
