Thermodynamics – Home Work 2 1. An oxygen bottle at 340 kPa (absolute) and 22 °C is connected to a breathing system but is isolated from the system. The bottle has a relief valve connected and set to relieve at 410 kPa (absolute). During the day the temperature increases. At what temperature would the relief valve open automatically? 2. Gas having 150 cm 3 volume has pressure 16m H2O. If we increase volume of container to 300 cm 3, find final pressure of the gas. ( Temperature is constant ) As you can see; as we decrease the volume of container, pressure of gas ……………… (decreases/ increases) 3. Gas at 127 0C has volume 240 ml. If we increase temperature of gas from 127 0C to 227 0C, find final volume of the gas. ( pressure is constant) Be careful, if you do not change the units of temperatures, you cannot find the real value of volume. 4. Find pressure of CO2 having 8,8 g mass and 1230 cm 3 volume under 27 0C temperature. (molar mass of CO2=44 g/mol, Ro=8.314 kJ/kmol.K)
