Specific Heat Ratio
Instructions
 Measure atmospheric pressure P0 (this is given in hPa,
convert to kPa by dividing by 10).
 Close valve C2 and open valve C1.
 Pump some air into the container by using the pump
until the pressure reading on the scale is ~100mV then
close valve C1.
 Wait for the temperature reading to stabilize and then
record pressure in mV (call this P1’).
P1 = P1’/20 + P0 in kPa
 Quickly open and close valve C2.
 Wait for the temperature reading to stabilize and then
record pressure in mV (call this P2’).
P2 = P2’/20 + P0 in kPa
