This is an enormous change for me and my partner, but I realize we are in a privileged position where we work in the same company and will both be able to make this move together. While I am not quite sure just yet if we will certainly be making this move, I am open to the idea and will be at the meeting to learn more. I have a couple of questions and concerns that I would like to have addressed at this meeting. Difference in Enviorment I know you mentioned that it would be nice for us to be in a very business oriented location, surrounded by hardworking individuals. I worry that this would mean that the pressure in our office would only get worse, and our overall work environment will become very competitive and draining rather than rewarding in our more laidback location here in Utah. I dont want to make this move for a job and company I enjoy in this setting, just for it to not be as enjoyable in another setting. New York City is seen as the hub for opportunity but that also only means competitiveness and exhaustion. How will the company attempt to conserve company culture built here in SLC in NYC? Cost of Living You did mention that NYC has public transportation, and so the purchase of a car may not be needed, im not sure how true that is. I feel that NYC public transportation horror stories are the norm now, and so it does not feel like the safest, or more most efficient option. Then again it is true that owning a car in NYC seems nearly impossible with the amount of traffic anf the gamble to find any parking. While getting around the city is one cost, living in it is another. All we do is hear about how expensive New York City is to live in, and that most people can barely afford a one bedroom apartment. These are all just things I have seen on social media, so I cannot imagine the true nature of it all. Moving to somewhere so expensive to live, I need to know if there will be some sort of wage raise, or compensation at this new office? As well as what will be done in terms of accomadations and what the company is willing to offer to keep and solely transfer its employees. I will see you at the team meeting and hope to hear your regards to my concerns.
