Prelim Activity 1 1. We all have our own dyings and risings, and the paschal mystery is the process of dying, rising, death, and new life. Jesus Christ's life, passion, death, resurrection, and glorious ascension are all part of the paschal mystery. It is significant in our lives because we all die little deaths on a regular basis, just like Jesus. Sin or temptation could be the cause of these minor deaths. We were able to restore our status in God's favour through the Paschal Mysteries. If we allow the Holy Spirit to unite us to the Lord, the Blessed Trinity will adopt us into the divine family. 2. Lent is a 40-day season in the Christian calendar that begins 40 days before Easter. Lent is a season of reflection and preparation that begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Easter Sunday. Christians imitate Jesus Christ's sacrifice and 40-day retreat into the wilderness by observing Lent for 40 days. Giving up something for Lent is one of the most regular rituals. During the holiday season, some people refrain from eating chocolate, using social media, shopping, or doing anything else. Fasting is a strict religious discipline. We fast in order to refocus our attention away from those things and toward God. During Lent, we also observe service. You can develop a new habit of volunteering in the community throughout the period of the season's 40 days. 3. Ash Wednesday – officially known as the Day of Ashes – is a day of repentance, when Christians confess their sins and profess their devotion to God. During a Mass, a priest places the ashes on a worshiper's forehead in the shape of a cross. The ceremony, which also can be performed by a minister or pastor, is meant to show that a person belongs to Jesus Christ, and it also represents a person's grief and mourning for their sins – the same sins that Christians believe Jesus Christ gave his life for when he died on the cross. Ash Wednesday is important because it marks the start of the Lenten period leading up to Easter, when Christians believe Jesus was resurrected. 4.Holy Week is hugely significant for Catholics. Catholics commemorate Jesus' final week on earth during Holy Week. It gives opportunity to consider Jesus' deeds and teaching. During Holy Week, special liturgies like as the Stations of the Cross are held to prepare for Easter Sunday's resurrection. It's also a time for prayer and reflection. They worship him, since they are taught that he did these things in order for them to be saved from sin. Ma. Isabel Lo Clint Oceas Ibaya Kishia Ternura
