The origin of braised pork rice
• In the 1920s, people imported the rice(Japonica
粳稻) with a better taste that goes well with the
braised pork. We can assume that there was a
street vendor selling braised pork rice and
attracted numerous customers, then there were
more and more vendors that sold braised pork
rice.

 While lu rou fan (滷肉飯) is available at countless
restaurants throughout Taipei, possibly the most famous
restaurant that serves it is Jin Feng (金峰魯肉飯).
 Jingfung’s braised pork rice is one of the must-try brands in
Taiwan. Taipei’s Most Famous Braised Pork Rice Bowl. It
serves the original flavor of braised pork rice－salty and
greasy. It is a legendary vendor in the Nanmen market.
 It can be served and eaten on its own as a complete dish, or
it can be the base of a meal that includes a number of side
dishes.
 The pork was incredibly tender and just melted into the rice
below it, with a blast of soothing slow braised Chinese soy sauce
flavor to it, and just a hint of star anise and cinnamon.

1. Since 2003, the year the Penghu Ocean Fireworks
Festival was held for the first time, this festival has
become a tradition in Penghu over the last decade,
a splendid view at night that everybody eagerly
awaits at Penghu in the summer and is one of the
main reasons that visitors choose to stop by Penghu
in the summer.
2. Each year in spring and early summer, the Penghu
International Fireworks Festival gives travelers an
additional incentive to visit the beautiful Penghu
archipelago before the hot summer months begin.
3. A fireworks show will take place every
Monday and Thursday at the Guanyinting
Recreation Area in Magong City on
Penghu's main island.
3. Shows take place Mondays and
Thursdays. In addition, there will be oneoff shows on Qimei Island (May 28),
Wang’an Island (June 11), and Jibei Island
(June 25).
