Chapter 1: Wendy’s Request “Pervy Popsicle!” “Stupid Matchstick!” “You want to say that again!?” “I’ll say it how many times as I want if it means getting it through your thick skull!” After an exchange of insults, fists started to fly; one of which came from a certain Ice Mage while another from a fired-up Dragon Slayer. The once simple disagreement turned into a full-blown fistfight between Gray Fullbuster and Natsu Dragneel. Chairs began to break, tables were tossed around, and a good number of their guildmates were caught in the crossfire. “And they’re at it again,” Mirajane Strauss remarked as she served her guildmates from behind the bar counter. “Seriously,” Lucy Heartfilia groaned. “Would those two just grow up? After seven years in suspended animation, you’d think that they would mellow a bit and stop picking fights with each other.” Mirajane chuckled at Lucy’s comment. She looked to the two rowdy mages before sighing content. It had been about a while since the delegation that went to Tenrō Island had returned after seven years and a few days after the Infinity Clock incident. A lot has changed since their return, the most obvious was the decline of the guild during their absence. Now that they’re back after resolving the problems caused by the actions of the Zentopia Church, things have started to turn for the better. Job offers have been coming and former clients have returned to acquire the services of the guild. In a way, life in the guild was going back to normal. BANG!!! A loud crash snapped the white-haired mage’s stupor and grabbed her attention. From the source of the sound were the unconscious bodies of Gray and Natsu. Standing on top of them was the armor-clad figure of the guild’s very own Titania Erza Scarlet. It seems the redhead had enough of the two’s shenanigans and decided to solve the problem by way of violence. Lucy and Mira had a blob of sweat appear on their heads. “Leave it to Erza to go rough on those two,” they both thought. The Celestial Mage caught sight of a small figure scanning the request board. She quickly recognized the person to be none other than their resident Sky Dragon Slayer, Wendy Marvell together with her Exceed Carla. Curious, Lucy stood up from her seat and approached the duo. “Hey Wendy,” she called. “Oh,” startled for a bit, Wendy gave a warm smile before returning the greeting. “Hello, Lucy.” “You’ve been looking at the request board for a while now. You found a request you want?” “I have,” the blue-haired girl replied then pointed to a poster on the top left of the display. The blonde Celestial Mage looked to the said poster and read its contents. Job: Extermination Location: Town of Aldebaran, Western Fiore Reward: 50,000 Jewels Details: The town of Aldebaran is currently in need of mage(s) to exterminate a minor infestation of monsters in the surrounding forest. Said monsters are easy to handle by a trained group of armed men, but due to their numbers the town militia will need the help of an experienced mage(s). Rewards will be handsomely given after the monsters have been dealt with. For further details, see mayor Johan Bellamy. Based on the contents of the request, the job is pretty easy for someone like Wendy and Carla to handle. Wendy could use her magic to support the town’s militia and avoid conflict for the majority of the request. Still, Lucy thought that the girl and the Exceed might need a few extra hands for the mission. “If you want, I can tag along with you,” Lucy suggested. “Are you sure, Lucy?” Wendy asked. “You might be busy with other things.” “To be honest, I have nothing to do right now.” “Really? Thanks, Lucy! For helping me in this mission, we should split the reward!” “You’re welcome, Wendy, and thank you.” “So, when do you think we should leave?” “Later this afternoon,” Carla replied as the white cat landed on a nearby table. “It’ll give us enough time to pack the essentials for this journey.” “Good idea, Carla,” Wendy remarked before turning back to Lucy. “See you later, Lucy.” With that, the young Dragon Slayer raced out of the guildhall to ready her things. Lucy watched as the kid disappeared before thinking of heading back to her apartment and prepare her things. That, however, had to wait since Erza decided to speak to her. “Good morning, Lucy,” the redhead greeted. “Hi, Erza. What’s up?” “I saw you and Wendy looking at the request board. You two decided to take on a quest?” “Yep. It’s an easy one, Wendy and I would be enough.” “I see,” Erza nodded her head. “Be careful then, Lucy, and take care of Wendy.” “I will.” Unknown to the blonde, a certain pink-haired mage overheard the entire conversation. Lucy walked along the riverbank on the way to her apartment. Now that she thought about it, this will be her first quest since returning from Tenrō Island. After the incident with the Zentopia Church, she, and everyone else haven’t gone on a proper quest. This would be a good change of pace from all the trouble that kept popping out of nowhere. She finally reached her apartment and before opening the door, she heard voices from inside. A vein popped on her forehead as she recognized who those voices belonged to. With a quick push, she opened the door and yelled at the home invaders. “WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU FOUR DOING HERE!?” Said four were Natsu, Gray, Erza, and the blue Exceed, Happy. Much to her annoyance, the four intruders were making themselves comfortable in her room. Not wanting to start the day in a bad mood, Lucy just sighed and went to the closet to gather a few things. That’s when she noticed her teammates already with minimal luggage with them. “Uhm…guys,” the blonde wizard called to them, “Why do you look like you’re all heading out on a mission?” “Oh!” Natsu answered, “We heard that you and Wendy are going out on a mission. Since it’s been a while from our last quest, the four of us decided we’ll be tagging along with you.” “You have got to be kidding me,” Lucy groaned in a low voice. “Although,” Natsu then added, “I prefer if icicle head didn’t come along. He’d just slow us down.” Insulted, the Ice mage threw the chair he was sitting on and directly hit Natsu on the temple. “Say that again you idiot and I swear I’m going to freeze you solid!” The Dragon Slayer mage quickly recovered and growled at the Gray. “Why you…” He wasn’t able to finish as a fist covered in metal made contact with his head. The Ice Make wizard wasn’t safe either from the redheaded brute. By the end of the scuffle, both Gray and Natsu were sporting lumps on their heads. “Now that that’s taken care of,” Erza then turned towards Lucy. “I’m sorry if this was sudden, but the four of us will be coming with you.” “Didn’t Natsu just said that earlier?” “Yes, he did. Although, I would’ve just let you and Wendy handle this mission, unfortunately, these two idiots overheard the conversation and decided to follow you.” “Why am I not surprised? Still, that doesn’t explain why you’re here, Erza.” “Simple. I came along to keep Gray and Natsu in line.” “Funny. If I remember correctly, you cause just as much property damage as those two morons.” “It’s fine, Lucy!” Natsu exclaimed with a bright smile. “You and Wendy can have the reward. I just want to tag along since I miss going out on missions with everyone.” “Aye, sir!” Happy concurred. “Same here.” For once, Gray agreed to Natsu. “It’s been a while since Fairy Tail’s strongest team took on a mission.” Lucy couldn’t help but smile at that. During her stay with Fairy Tail, it was never about the reward that mattered. It was all about the feeling of being part of a family. With her team, she felt like she belonged, and that feeling is what kept the guild so strong despite all adversity. “Ok,” the Celestial mage finally agreed. “However, Wendy and I will lead this mission. You four will serve as backup. Got it?” “Sure,” everyone replied. “Alright. Just let me pack up a few things before we head out.” The journey to the town of Aldebaran was a quiet one. When Wendy found out that the rest of Team Natsu tagged along, she was surprised but gladly welcomed the extra help. Still, she can’t help but feel nauseous during the train ride to the western part of Fiore. Natsu wasn’t any different from her. She could use her Troia spell, but it’s no longer effective because of constant use. The train finally stopped after a good three hours. The motion sickness the two Dragon Slayers were experiencing quickly vanished and the color of their faces returned. Natsu, overanxious as ever, quickly rushed out of the train station before shouting “FREEDOM!” to the whole world. That act caused some of his teammates, specifically Lucy and Erza, to giggle at his antics. Gray, on the other hand, groaned at the pinkhaired mage before slapping his head in annoyance while Happy was asking Carla if she wanted some fish. Wendy, however, felt something in the wind the moment she stepped out of the train. It was like the air around the town was slightly heavier than back in Magnolia. Not only that but there was also this sense of an otherworldly force that covered Aldebaran. Something was indeed here, and based on this feeling she had, Wendy knew that this town isn’t just dealing with ordinary monsters. “Hey, Wendy!” Her thoughts were interrupted when Lucy called to her. “Come one. We need to meet the mayor to get more details about the job!” “Right.” “You felt something, didn’t you?” The blue-haired Dragon Slayer turned to her companion Exceed. “Huh?” “That look you had just now. You felt something in the air, right?” Wendy nodded. “I did, Carla. For some reason, the air here in Aldebaran seems thicker compared to Magnolia. It’s like an unseen force is filling up the atmosphere and making the air pressure heavier.” “I see.” Carla fell silent for a moment, seemingly contemplating on Wendy’s observation. “What is it, Carla?” Wendy asked the white, winged cat. “I had a vision during our trip here.” Wendy’s eyes widened. She knew that Carla’s visions aren’t something to disregard. It was best to take heed of whatever vision she saw. “I didn’t get much from my vision, but there were images that constantly appeared.” “What would that be?” “A man in black robes, a woman in a white dress, and a boy wearing a white mask.” “Greetings, mages from Fairy Tail!” Mayor Jonah Bellamy was a spry man for his age. A very active individual, he was seen around the streets of the town mingling with its citizens that deal with all the politics and paperwork that comes with the position. And from how the people address the town leader, the members of Team Natsu could see that the mayor was beloved by everyone. “Good afternoon, Mayor Bellamy,” Lucy greeted the mayor for the team as they entered the town hall. “My name is Lucy Heartfilia, and this is Wendy Marvell. The rest of our teammates are here for backup.” “Please, take a seat,” the mayor offered to the mages to which they promptly took. “I’m sure you’re here for the request I sent out regarding the monsters, correct?” “Yes,” replied the blonde. “The request flyer already gave us some important details regarding the mission. Still, it’ll be a big help if you could tell us more about what we’re going to deal with.” “It’d be my pleasure.” The old yet energetic mayor stood up and proceed to walk towards the town map displayed on his office’s wall. Pointing to the forested part of the town’s perimeter, the mayor began to explain the situation, “As you can see here, the eastern section of the town is surrounded by forests. This general area is where the majority of the monsters reside. I’ve already had my town militia deal with a good portion of these monsters, but it seems that their numbers have barely decreased. That is why we sent out that request for wizards. I’m hoping that with your support, we can finally rid this town of these creatures.” “I have a question, mister mayor,” Wendy raised her hand to get Bellamy’s attention. “Ask away, young lady,” the mayor urged. “Where did these monsters come from?” Mayor Bellamy sighed. “To be honest, I too, am at a loss as to where these creatures come from. They appeared about two weeks ago and immediately started harassing the outer districts of the town. Our town militia was quickly mobilized to respond to the monster attacks. They are fairly weak in terms of strength, so we were able to hold them off and exterminate a good number of them. That said, their population seem to have barely been affected.” “I have a suggestion.” Everyone turned to Ezra who seemed to have come up with something. “By all means, please,” the mayor replied. “You said these monsters appeared two weeks ago, right?” Bellamy nodded. “And before then there were none.” With another nod from the mayor, Erza came up with a conclusion. “It seems that these monsters were led here by something more powerful.” “I agree with Erza on this,” Wendy said. “Right after I stepped into this town, I felt the air here to be thicker than back in Magnolia. Not only that, but the pressure in this town is also a lot heavier, like something potent was mixed into it.” “Then that just proves my theory,” the armored mage remarked. “A creature with far more power than the rest attracted the monsters to it and most likely manipulated them to do its bidding.” “Do the rest of you agree with your companion here?” the mayor asked the rest of the assembled mages. “Yeah,” they all answered. “Then it is settled.” Bellamy then looked to both Lucy and Wendy, “Since the two of you are the ones who took on the request, I leave it in your capable hands. My men will give you support in dealing with this threat.” “Any help is always welcome, Mayor Bellamy,” Wendy said with a bright smile that brightened up the mayor’s otherwise hectic predicament. “Ok, everyone,” Lucy addressed the town militia present. “We’ll be going into the forest and deal with the majority of the monsters. All you have to do is to guard the perimeter of the forest and take care of any stragglers that can come your way. Got it?” A resounding “YEAH!” was all Lucy needed to know that the militia understood their duty. “Thank you, everyone, for helping us in our quest,” Wendy said to the soldiers. “No, thank you, little lady,” said one of the militiamen. “With your help today, our town will become safe once again.” The Sky Dragon Slayer smiled at the men before regrouping with the rest of the Fairy Tail mages and proceeding into the heart of the forest. “Be careful guys,” Wendy warned. “That heavy feeling I got earlier just got stronger.” “Hey Wendy,” Natsu called. “How come the rest of us don’t feel that strange pressure you were talking about?” “Maybe it’s because of my affinity for air and wind since I’m a Sky Dragon Slayer.” “That makes sense,” Gray remarked. “We’re getting close to the center of the forest.” Suddenly, a series of roars echoed from the distance. The Fairy Tail mages became cautious and dropped into a defensive stance. Erza summoned a sword into her hand, Gray activated his Ice magic, Lucy pulled out one of her golden keys, Natsu lit his fists on fire while Wendy was conjuring air in her palms. The roars became more frequent as they waited. Finally, from out of the bushes, grotesque figures emerged. The monsters showed themselves and they came in various sizes. Some were just as tall as a human, while others reached up to ten feet in height. Though they look menacing, everyone can tell that they can be easily taken down. “Heh,” the Fire Dragon Slayer smirked at the sight of the monsters. “These guys don’t look so tough.” “For once, Natsu,” Grey began, “…I agree with you.” “I’M ALL FIRED UP!” “Aren’t you always?” “So, what’s the plan?” Lucy questioned to no one in particular. “We hit them hard and hit them fast,” Erza answered. “My kind of plan. HYAAAH!” With a battle roar of a crazed warrior, Natsu charged at the monsters. The rest of the team followed suit, and each took on a group of the creatures. “Fire Dragon Iron Fist!” “Ice-Make, Lance!” “Requip!” “Sky Dragon Roar!” “Open, Gate of the Bull!” Everyone released their magic and subsequently took out a good portion of the monsters. More of the abominations appeared from within the forest to wreak havoc on the mages. A few managed to separate Natsu from the rest of the group. The monster charged at the flame-fisted mage but was knocked back by a solid blow to the stomach. Two decided to team up on Natsu but the wizard was agile and evaded all the attacks that were dealt with him. In retaliation, Natsu jumped up high before taking in a massive breath. “Fire Dragon Roar!” A stream of raging fire surged towards the monsters. The creatures didn’t have time to escape the incoming conflagration and ended up becoming a pile of charred meat. Not letting up, the Dragon Slayer ignited his feet and delivered a fire-powered spinning kick to the remaining beasts. “Fire Dragon Claw!” A stream of intense fire engulfed the remaining monsters as they slowly burned to a crisp. Satisfied with his results, Natsu decided to back up the rest of his team. Meanwhile, Gray was having a field day dealing with the monsters. He had already taken out a good number of the abominations by either freezing them or impaling them in large ice spikes. Right now, he was fighting with the remaining creatures at about four of the left. “Ice-Make Hammer!” Conjuring an ice hammer, Gray charged at one of the remaining monsters and slammed the head of his ice weapon into one. The weapon shattered the skull of the monster and sent it skidding into its end. The rest of the vile creatures charged at the Ice mage at the same time. Gray saw this and erected an ice dome to protect himself. The beasts tried to penetrate the structure, but it was just too sturdy. Giving a sly smirk, Gray conjured ice spikes that shot out from the dome and impaled all the monsters trying to break his defenses. With all the monsters in his vicinity dealt with, Gray set out to aid his fellow teammates. Lucy, on the other hand, was having a bit of trouble since she got the most monsters to fight with. Right now, Taurus was fending the onslaught of beasts that were trying to get the Celestial mage. “Are you alright, my dear Lucy?” the celestial bull asked. “I’m fine, Taurus,” Lucy answered. “Just make sure you finish off those monsters. I’ll try to summon another spirit for backup. Until then, be careful.” “Will do,” the humanoid bull replied before swinging his ax in a wide arc, bisecting a few of the monsters. “Open, Gate of the Lion!” From the golden key came a bright light that quickly dissipated, revealing the rustycolored-haired Loke, otherwise known as the Celestial Spirit Leo. Clad in a three-piece suit, Loke scanned the area and found that his master is currently surrounded by unwanted creatures. “Need any help, Lucy?” Loke asked. “Yeah,” the spirit mage replied. “Go help out Taurus. You two be careful, alright?” “You don’t need to worry about us, Lucy,” the lion spirit commented. “Although, the concern was appreciated.” Turning to Taurus, the leader of the Zodiacs exclaimed, “Let’s show them the strength of the Zodiacs, Taurus!” “Charge on, fearless leader!” On cue, both Zodiac spirits leaped at the remaining monsters. With a mighty swing, the muscular bull cleaved through an unsuspecting beast before turning his attention to the rest of the monstrosities. Loke, meanwhile, lit up his fists in an ethereal glow that blinded his enemies. “Regulus Impact!” He charged at the monsters and hit one in the chest. The punch sent the beast flying into its kin before flying straight into a nearby tree, shattering the poor plant into bits. The other monsters took the opportunity to gang up on the Lion spirit, but Taurus saw it and quickly took down a pair with his ax. Loke leaped into the air and ignited his fists in the same heavenly glow. Now falling, he cocked his fist back, and just before landing, he punched the ground. The strike sent a force strong enough to launch the remaining monsters into the air while the impact zone was nothing more than a tenfoot crater. Taurus took the opportunity provided and began hacking the monsters into bits. With the savages taken care of, Taurus and Loke high-fived each other before walking back to their beloved master. “You were amazing, guys!” Lucy yelled in excitement. “Anything for you Lucy,” Loke commented causing the blonde mage to faintly blush. “Anyways, thank you Taurus, Loke. You guys deserve a break.” “See you, my sweet Lucy!” Taurus exclaimed. “Take care, Lucy. If you need anything else, just call us and we’ll be right there,” Loke said. “I will,” the Celestial mage replied with a smile. “Take care.” She closed their respective gates, and the two spirits were engulfed in light before disappearing back into their realm. “Now that that’s done, time to look for the others.” “Requip! Heaven’s Wheel Armor!” A bright light covered the scarlet-haired mage’s body before revealing her signature armor. Behind her were dozens of swords pointed at the beasts. With a motion of her hand, her swords all rushed towards the creatures. Some managed to escape the onslaught of sharp, pointed metal. Most, however, weren’t so fortunate because they were either impaled, slashed, or cleaved into oblivion. The swords continued to rain on the monsters before the general area of Erza’s attack became clouded in the dust. Once that dust cloud settled, she got a good look at the abominations left. There were still a few, but they were far from fine. Most were already injured. Summoning a sword into her hand, Fairy Tail’s Titania then swooped down to finish the job. Immediately, she cut down one weak monster by slashing the thing from the shoulder to its waist. Another tried to claw at her head, but she was too fast. She ducked and in a smooth motion, turned around and delivered a horizontal slash at the offending beast. Said beast was bisected by the waist before dropping dead onto the ground. The other monsters, now realizing the futility of their actions, decided that the best thing to do was make a run for it and hope the red-haired mage won’t follow them. Erza didn’t need to, however, as she manipulated her swords, and it circled the frantic beasts. “Circle Sword!” The blades that surrounded the frightened abominations spun at high speeds before plunging towards its victims. The creatures, with nowhere left to go, met their end as multiple blades of various sizes and sharpness turned them into a meaty pincushion. With all the monsters defeated, Erza’s current armor disappeared in bright light and was replaced by her usual Heart Kreuz armor. She felt the magical signature of Wendy spiking. “She still must be fighting,” she thought to herself before heading in the girl’s direction. The Sky Dragon Slayer had just finished five monsters with a concussive blast of air. Carla and Happy were providing her with a good distraction by dive-bombing at the beasts while being magically enhanced by Wendy. Wendy laced her arms in violently whirling tornados. She sped to the remaining monsters and did a slicing motion with her arms. “Sky Dragon Wing Attack!” The torrent of raging winds swept the remaining monsters into the air. Wendy signaled to the two Exceeds to lift her into the air. Upon obtaining enough height, she dived into one of the monsters with her foot in position for a powerful kick. Said foot was quickly enveloped in a gale-force tornado the swirled around it violently. “Leading Sky Arrow!” One unlucky beast was unfortunate enough to be the receiver of the devastating attack. As Wendy made contact with the creature, the tornado encasing her leg acted like a powerful drill that blasted the monster into the ground at break-neck speeds. Upon impact, a massive crater was found and in its center was the motionless body of the monster. The rest of the abominations decided to gang up on the girl, but she spun around and created a wind barrier that blew the attackers away. Deciding to finish this fight, Wendy gathered a considerable amount of magical energy into her body as she took a massive breath. All at once, she released that magical power into one massive twister that pulverized all in its path. “Sky Dragon Roar!” The monsters were helpless from the massive attack. They were shredded from the raging winds as they tore through them and a good portion of the forest. When the dust settled, there were no signs of the monsters. Wendy did it. “Nice job, Wendy!” Happy yelled as he descended just at the child's eye level. “Yes, Wendy. That was very impressive,” Carla added. “Thanks,” Wendy replied. “But there are still more out there. We should meet up with the rest and go deeper into the forest.” Right after she said that the rest of the team converged on her location. First, was Natsu followed by Gray. Then Lucy and Erza came at the same time. Just like her, they were barely even tired. “Those monsters didn’t even put up much of a fight,” Natsu remarked smugly. “You said it,” Lucy added. “They are weak just like what the mayor said.” “Still,” Wendy interrupted, “…there are more monsters near the center of the forest. We should head out there an-” Wendy’s eyes widened as she felt the very same pressure she detected when they came to Aldebaran. This time, however, said pressure was heavier and the strange energy she had sensed earlier was much more potent. She hugged herself to ease her senses as the lingering sensation scared her. Being a Sky Dragon Slayer, her senses that were attuned for the wind only strengthened that heavy feeling. The rest of the mages noticed this and immediately started to worry. “Wendy, what’s wrong?” Carla asked in concern. “I felt it,” Wendy replied. “That pressure I felt earlier, it’s more potent now that we’re getting near the center of the forest.” “That means…,” Erza started. “…we’re getting close to the powerful monster that’s controlling the weaker ones,” Gray finished. Just as they made that conclusion, Natsu was already sprinting towards the center of the forest with the intent of fighting the beast head-on. Happy was following him as usual. “Natsu, wait!” Lucy yelled but her call fell on deaf ears. “Goddammit, Natsu,” Gray cursed. With no other choice, four mages chased after their overanxious fire-breather. They managed to reach Natsu in time to see him pulverizing a small hoard of monsters. “What the hell, Natsu!?” Natsu turned around to see Gray calling him. Behind the Ice-Make wizard was the rest of the mages. “Don’t go running off like that, you moron.” “What did you say!?” “Enough, you two!” Erza yelled, causing the two to instantly cease a potential argument. “Anyway, why did you run off like that, Natsu?” “I caught a strange smell right after we finished dealing with the monsters earlier,” the pink-head answered. “It was different from the rest of the monsters. This particular smell seemed like it reeks of death.” “I smell it too,” Wendy added, “…and it’s getting closer.” After those words were uttered, an unholy roar echoed through the forest. A chill ran down each of their spines as the roar continued for a few more seconds. It didn’t sound like a normal monster. That roar sounded like it wasn’t out for blood. It sounded more like it was tortured: like a wail of someone who had undergone great suffering. As the ungodly sound slowly died, massive footsteps were heard nearby. They all turned in the direction of the incoming beast to see what it looked like. From the darkness of the forest, massive forearms covered in fur emerged. Its fists were covered in a bone-like carapace as it used these enormous limbs to move. Slowly, the rest of the unknown creature’s body came into view. It had a disproportionate build with its legs shorter than its arms. The body was also covered in fur, and its back had sharp bony protrusions that ran along the backbone. It looked like a mutated gorilla, but that wasn’t what caught their attention. The biggest characteristics this creature had were the giant gaping hole on the left side of its chest, and the white mask it was wearing. “White mask!?” Carla remembered the images from her vision. The white mask was one of the images that constantly appeared. She looked at her ward and found her face had an expression of shock. Wendy must’ve remembered about the white mask that was said to her, but it wasn’t the monster who wore it. It was supposed to be a boy. That train of thought, however, was suddenly interrupted when the creature gazed upon the mages and let out another blood-curdling roar. The wizards covered their ears at the intensity of the sound. It was much more difficult for Wendy and Natsu because of their heightened senses. When the creature stopped, the sorcerers all readied themselves for the battle to come. Without warning, Natsu leaped into the air and ignited his fists. “Wait!” everyone shouted but they weren’t heard. “Fire Dragon Iron Fi-” The Fire Dragon Slayer wasn’t able to finish as the beast swatted him away with its massive forearms, sending Natsu crashing into the trees. “Natsu!” Lucy yelled after seeing her teammate sent through the forest. She glared at the creature and took out one of her golden gate keys. “Open, Gate of the Lion!” A bright light appeared beside her and from it appeared her strongest spirit, Loke. “Need help?” the spirit asked. “Yeah. See if you can beat that thing,” Lucy pointed to the monster. “Sure thing.” Loke charged at the creature while summoning the power of Regulus. The monster saw the incoming attacker and tried to swipe him away but Loke was just fast enough to dodge the incoming arm. He flipped into the air and cocked his right fist back, intensifying the magical energy coating it. “Regulus Impact!” The lion spirit managed to land a direct hit to the face of the monster. It staggered for a bit but quickly recovered. From the other side, Gray gathered his magical energy for an attack. Placing his hands on the ground, multiple ice spires emerged. “Ice-Make, Geyser!” The ice spikes found their intended target and impaled the beast’s limbs. It screeched in agony as it tried to break free from its painful binds. However, it was again on the receiving end of an ice attack. “Ice-Make, Super Freeze Arrow!” A frozen arrow with sub-zero temperatures flew towards the creature. It was able to land a hit and when it did, half of the abomination’s body was quickly encased in ice. The Ice-Make wizard signaled the rest to attack. Erza quickly swapped armors and got into her Heaven’s Wheel Armor. Summoning two dozen swords, she quickly took two and manipulated the rest to create a circular formation. With a quick motion of her hands, the swords forming the circle all spun rapidly like a saw and flew towards the beast. “Circle Sword!” The beast wailed in pain and its skin was constantly being torn by the rotating blades. Still not satisfied, the armored mage charged at the masked creature with her two swords. She brought her weapons forward and did a cross slash to the monster. “Blumenblatt!” Her attack struck true, and the beast bled. “Sky Dragon Roar!” Everybody turned to Wendy who just breathed out a stream of concussive wind towards the injured beast. The creature took a direct hit from the powerful wind attack and was pushed back several feet. From the bushes, Natsu emerged with a readied fire fist. Wendy saw the fire mage preparing for an attack on the monster and decided to increase Natsu’s strength with her enchantment. “Power of the stout arms that tear heaven. Arms!” Natsu felt the boost from his fellow dragon slayer’s enchantment. He smirked at the creature that just seemed to be helpless from the barrage of spells it took. “This is for swatting me away like a bug. Eat fire! Dragon Slayer Secret Art: Crimson Lotus – Explosive Flame Blade!” Natsu’s arms were covered in intense flames. He swiped his fire-covered arms in a circular motion and launched the torrent of fire at the incapacitated monster. What followed was a majestic display of fire, explosions, and massive amounts of damage. The Fire Dragon Slayer landed on the ground with a smug grin. He thought this was going to be difficult, but that creature was nothing more than a pushover. “And here I thought this thing would be hard,” the pinkette declared. “Impressive.” Everyone turned to the source of the voice. From the dust and rubble emerged the creature. The wizards were surprised to find the injuries they dealt with the beast were all gone. “It can talk?” Carla and Happy asked in disbelief. “H-How?” Lucy questioned, worry slowly taking over her. “Simple. High-speed regeneration,” the monster answered. “Regeneration?” Erza muttered as she held her blade up. “One of my many abilities, mages. Although, I must commend you for dealing such incredible damage to me. Still, I have dealt worse from far more capable fighters.” The monster lowered itself, bent its legs forward, and stared at the wizards. “Now it’s my turn.” The monster disappeared from their sights. Before long, the sound of an impact was heard and when they turned to see it, they found Gray to the receiver of the charge. “Ack!” Gray flew through several trees before stopping on a boulder, leaving an impression on the large piece of rock. “Gray!” Wendy yelled before she noticed a shadow over her. The beast had its arms raised to crush her but before that could happen, Carla managed to swoop down and snatch her from the creature. “Requip! Purgatory Armor!” Erza switched to her Purgatory Armor and charged at the monster. The redhead raised her massive sword to perform a devastating swing, but the said creature saw the attack and dodged. The sword hit the ground instead of flesh and left a small crater in its wake. Erza sensed a concentration of unrecognizable energy and looked for its source. It came from the beast who held out its fist, now glowing bright red. Without even knowing, Erza was hit in the body by the energy blast. It was just too fast for her to see that dodging was next to impossible. Her armor disappearing and reverting to her usual outfit, she fell on the ground unconscious. “Oh no, Erza!” Lucy cried at her friend before turning to her spirit. “Loke, help them!” “On it.” With a nod to his master, Loke ran to the masked creature. Summoning the power of Regulus, he was readying for a powerful attack. The monster saw this and tried to dodge, but Loke was able to catch up. “Lion Brilliance!” A blast of light engulfed the beast. An intense explosion covered the vicinity where the two were battling. From the cloud of dust, Loke jumped away and landed beside Lucy. “Did we get it?” Lucy asked her spirit. “That was my most powerful attack. That should take it out,” the spirit replied. He then felt a sudden surge of unknown energy shoot from where the creature stood. The quick blast was aimed towards Lucy. Reacting quickly, he dove in front of the blonde and took the shot for her. “Loke!” Lucy yelled as she raced towards her spirit. “Loke, say something!” “I’m ok, Lucy,” the leader of the Zodiacs said weakly. “I…just need…a quick…rest.” “I’m sorry for getting you hurt like this.” “No…need to…apologize. I…only did…my duty.” “Rest now, Loke. I close the Gate of the Lion.” As Loke’s form slowly dissipated, Lucy took out her whip and glared at the beast who injured her friends. Fighting the monsters from earlier as well as this one was draining her magical reserves. However, she’ll be damned if it’s going to stop her from fighting. That, unfortunately, proved useless as the monster charged at her and sent her skidding. “Lucy!” Natsu and Wendy called in fear. Again, the beast charged another energy blast and shot it at the flame mage. Happy managed to lift Natsu into the air. Carla did the same to Wendy so now both dragon slayers were looking down on the creature. Surprisingly, the beast jumped into the air like a rocket that the two dragon slayers were barely able to dodge. When they looked at the creature, imagine their shock seeing the thing floating in mid-air. “What the hell?” Natsu and Happy questioned in disbelief. “How come?” Wendy and Carla muttered. The creature then opened its mouth and gathered that strange energy. This time, however, the energy felt denser and more concentrated. The build-up was slow, but one could tell this wasn’t meant to be shot fast. This was meant to be destructive. Wendy and Natsu took that as a cue to gather their magical energy for a counterattack. Both wizards inhaled deeply as the concentration of their magic intensified. Seeing that the monster was about to finish charging its attack, the two dragon slayers released their attacks at the same time. “Sky Dragon…” “Fire Dragon…” “ROAR!” Fire of great heat intensity and winds running at gale-force speeds surged towards the creature. The two attacks inched closer and closer until they combined, strengthening each other’s destructive capability. At the same time, the monster released its attack in the form of a highly concentrated beam. The two powerful attacks collided, trying to overpower the other. Natsu and Wendy were pouring so much energy into the attack. The red beam from the creature was just too powerful that the two were overexerting themselves. Slowly, the red blast was overwhelming the combined dragon roar. Eventually, their attack was snuffed out. Knowing that they will be hit regardless, Natsu did the only thing he could do…he took the two cats and Wendy into an embrace and shielded them. “NATSU!” the three shouted as Natsu took the hit and they plummeted to the ground. They landed with a massive thud echoing throughout the forest. As Wendy came to, she saw Natsu unconscious with bad burns on his back. “Natsu, are you alright?” she said while nudging the sleeping body of her friend. She looked around and saw both Carla and Happy out cold probably from the fall. From behind her, she felt a cold sensation come over her before a giant hand swatted her away. The rest of the team just gained consciousness only to see the youngest member of their team thrown like a ragdoll for several feet. Wendy managed to stay conscious, but she was already drained from the constant fighting and the last breath attack pushed her to the limit. She looked up and saw the creature towering above her. It gazed at her with its yellow pupils surrounded by a pitch-black sclera. It roared at the poor girl, scaring her to the very core. She was shivering from the feeling of hopelessness of the situation. The creature then opened its mouth and began charging that same attack that overpowered theirs from earlier. The crimson color illuminated the area as Wendy can only helplessly stare at what could be her inevitable doom. “WENDY!” everyone cried, save for Natsu who was still knocked out. The blast came off, and the very image of the blue-haired Sky Maiden disappeared in a bright flash of crimson. The ground where she stood got obliterated as dust and rubble flew from the blast zone. As the dust subsided, there was no trace of Wendy. Lucy, Gray, Erza, Happy, and Carla all looked in horror. Wendy was gone. Lucy covered her mouth as tears began to flow from her eyes. “Wendy, no.” Erza can only stare in disbelief, still unable to comprehend that their precious girl was gone. Happy and Carla began to cry for their failure of protecting their charge. Gray began seething with rage at the monster for what it did to Wendy. “Goddamn, you!” “Don’t worry, she’s alive.” The grieving mages turned to the voice and saw Wendy alive. They sighed in relief knowing that their friend was saved. They then took a good look at her savior. Wendy also gazed at her rescuer and was wide-eyed. Carla, too, shared the same expression. A boy about her age with bright orange hair and round eyes with hazel brown pupils was cradling her in his left arm. He was wearing what appeared to be a black samurai robe with a hoodie underneath. In his right hand was a katana with an elegant handle and a guard taking the shape of a swastika. Wendy blushed as she can’t take her eyes off her hero. “He’s cute. Wait! Where did that come from!?” she internally berated herself for thinking such a thing. Then she saw the object that caught her surprise in the first place: the white skull-like mask on the boy’s upper right part of his forehead. This was him. This was the boy in Carla’s vision. “Who are you?” she asked the boy. Said boy looked at her and flashed a bright smile that further intensified the heat in her cheeks. “I’m Kazui Kurosaki.” A/N: ModernRogue11 here. This first chapter is a new crossover story with a few Bleach characters, mainly Ichigo, Orihime, Kazui, Yuzu, and Karin in the world of Fairy Tail. Now, before I proceed with this story, I will finish first the Wave Arc of Between Life and Death. After that, I will switch to this one since I’m having writer’s block on my first story. Don’t fret since I will finish that story. I just need a change of pace. This story will revolve around Ichigo’s family living in Fiore for some time after escaping from Yhwach. He will have the powerset as his counterpart at the end of the manga, meaning he will be a powerhouse. Orihime will still be the same, just more powerful now, and have a better grasp of her skills. Kazui will be the same age as Wendy and will have a mixed personality of Ichigo and Orihime. Anyway, leave a comment and like the story if you find it interesting. See you soon.
