To Mr. and Mrs. Pennypacker,
My name is Eddie Wang, and I would like to take this opportunity you both for funding the
Barry L. and Faith R. Pennypacker Trustee Matching Scholarship. I am greatly honored to be a
recipient of this award.
I am a sophomore from New Holland, PA with a goal of becoming an investment banker. Penn
State University attracted me because of how well known Smeal College of Business was and
the alumni relationship in the investment banking field. My short-term goals are to continue
making the Dean’s List and create balance between my work and full-time school schedule. My
long-term goals in the future are to land a job in the investment banking field and to become a
professional day trader. Outside of college, I work part time and tutor students in Math and
English.
Receiving this Scholarship will allow me to cut down on my working hours to focus more on my
studies. My family is considered lower class and because of that, I have been paying for college
myself from working right after classes. I’m very thankful to know that my hard work
throughout the years has been rewarded. As a college student with expenses such as rent, food,
and tuition, this will take a large burden off my shoulders for a period. This scholarship will help
me save up for a car when I plan to intern at a bank in my junior year.
Your donation gave me strength and helped me reaffirm my goals to becoming an investment
banker. After completing my bachelor’s in business finance, I plan to land an analyst position at
a big bank such as Goldman Sachs or Chase Bank in New York. This scholarship will bring me
one step closer to my goals.
