What is STEMist Hacks?
STEMist Hacks is a weekend-long online hackathon hosted by STEMist Education
on the Devpost platform. With experienced industry professionals as mentors and
workshops, participants with any level of experience can participate - although it is
a student-only hackathon. Last year, we held our first iteration of STEMist Hacks,
and it was quite successful. At the time, it ranked in the top 10 most popular
hackathons, and we're excited to do it again this year.
Why Sponsor?
Past Sponsorship
Last year, 15 gracious sponsors decided to lend a hand and donate their services or
prizes to our hackathon. Not only are they featured exclusively on our devpost
page and in the emails we send out, but certain sponsors can also set up their own
workshops or advertising slots during the opening ceremony.
Distribute Merch
You will be able to distribute merchandise, allowing hackers to display your logo on
shirts and stickers. This doubles as free advertising, and helps promote your
company to the next generation of hackers.
Increase Awareness
As our participants are mainly high schoolers, who are often unfamiliar with the
tools they need to succeed in hacking, and by sponsoring us, you'll be able to
provide our hackers with an impactful first impression and increase awareness
about your company.
Where will your money go?
Your money will go towards supporting costs that are associated with this
hackathon. It will go towards prizes, swag, fun events, and hiring mentors for our
hackers to help them succeed in making a great project! STEMist Education is a
501(c)3 nonprofit so all donations to STEMist Hacks are tax-deductible.

We love in-kind sponsorship as well! In the past, we have received everything from a box
of stickers to a full hardware lab. We encourage you to be creative: how can your
company make STEMist Hacks a better event?
Outreach
STEMist Hacks has reached a wide range of participants because it is online - 150
participants from 20 different countries internationally joined us for our weekend
hackathon, some completely across the world from us. However, our hackathon is
only a subsidiary of our parent organization, STEMist Education, which in turn has
impacted hundreds of students close to home in the Bay Area.
