Detail of Tivoli Storage Manager 3.1.Tivoli Storage Manager Overview LIBRARY STORAGE POOL VOLUME CCF System Deployment Guide Page 19 Summary of Technical Training - Library Have some information: • The Library is SCSI (automated or manual) • The library path (that is, the link from the server to the library’s operating system device) • Tape drives within the library • Drive paths (one for each drive) • Device class: Here you create a class for the library and associate it with the device type and the library name. The device type is from a Tivoli Storage Manager-supported list, and common to all Tivoli Storage Manager server platforms (for example LTO, 4MM, DLT). - Storage spool This specifies the device class to use for storing data.Storage pools have various attributes based on the device type. Many storage pools can use the same device class. - Volumes: These are objects belonging to a particular storage pool. For sequential access devices, volumes are usually tape cartridges or magneto-optical discs. Volumes can be assigned to a scratch pool where they are used as needed or assigned as private to a particular storage pool. - Policy Domain • Client Nodes: have to install some information for connect from client to server • Management class: define policy of data (ex: version retention, storage pool store data,…) • Client Node Schedule: you can make scheduler for some client action on the server and then associate to the client 3.2.Option file for AIX client and Oracle client - Detail of AIX client: • Dsm.opt file (/usr/tivoli/tsm/client/ba/bin): CCF System Deployment Guide Page 20 Summary of Technical Training • Dsm.sys file (/usr/tivoli/tsm/client/ba/bin): CCF System Deployment Guide Page 21 Summary of Technical Training - Detail of Oracle client file: • Tdpo.opt file (/usr/tivoli/tsm/client/oracle/bin64): • Dsmora.opt file (/usr/tivoli/tsm/client/oracle/bin64): CCF System Deployment Guide Page 22 Summary of Technical Training • Dsm.opt file (/usr/tivoli/tsm/client/api/bin64): • Dsm.sys file (/usr/tivoli/tsm/client/api/bin64): CCF System Deployment Guide Page 23 Summary of Technical Training • Schedbkfull.scr file (/home/oracle/script_backup): • Full_bk.sh file (/home/oracle/script_backup): CCF System Deployment Guide Page 24 Summary of Technical Training • Fullbk.rcv (home/oracle/script_backup): 3.3.Add and remove tape: - Check out the tape • checkout libvolume ORACLE_RMAN 335BDLL4, 336BDLL4, 336BDLL4 remove=yes - Check in the tape: • checkin libvolume LTOTAPELIB search=yes status=private CCF System Deployment Guide Page 25
