It was developed through the positivist paradigm with quantitative approach, in a non-experimental field design, descriptive correlation and crosssectional. The sample consisted of 30 patients. The Beck Depression Inventory (BDI-II) and the Calvete and Cardeñoso Irrational Beliefs Test were used. The tabulation of the data was done using the Microsoft Office Excel program, and the analysis and processing of the data through the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 2. Through the results and their interpretation it is evident that the depressive symptomatology is in a moderate range 22.87, being the irrational beliefs present of medium value High self-expectations 11.03, Dependence 20.17, Perfectionism 14.60, and being found in high value of irrational belief Indefension about change 17.87. Five significant correlations were found in the research, these being between the variable depressive symptomatology and Need for approval; depressive symptomatology and Emotional Irresponsibility; Physical or somatic symptoms and Emotional Irresponsibility; Cognitive and emotional alterations and Emotional Irresponsibility; and finally, Cognitive and emotional alterations and Need for approval.
