A case Study on the Food Safety and Hygiene among Carinderia Owners in San Francisco, Naga City The purpose of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness of specific food safety and hygiene intervention, strategies, or intervention in preventing foodborne illnesses or reducing contamination risks. Also to raise awareness that food safety and hygiene practices are very important for customers health. 1. Salient Points: 1. Consistently practicing hygiene and food safety is necessary for the safety of costumers. 2. Hygiene practices and food safety can attract more costumers. 3. Safety always matters. 2. Learning(Reflection) Since our research study is about food safety and hygiene practices among Carinderia owners in San Francisco Naga City, it is quite hard because when we arrive there, they’re busy preparing or cooking foods. There are 10 Carinderia's in San Francisco Naga City, and at every Carinderia , we try to ask them if they are busy and if it’s okay to interrupt them for a research interview, but they don’t want because they are busy even when we go there at 7 A.M in the morning. They seemed aloof and didn’t want such interviews. They’re only 1 person there that is available for interviews; we interview in some Carinderia but not in San Francisco. We interviewed other Carinderia and stalls, and they answered all of our questions confidently. They say that practicing hygiene and food safety is important for the sake of their costumers and also to gain more customers. We’re so happy that we finally got some people who wanted to participate in the interview. As a researcher, I think if you are going to do an interview, you need to be approachable and professional enough to your goals. At the end of the day, patience is the key and safety matters.
