SUMMARY, FINDINGS, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
This chapter presents the summary of the research work, the conclusion
drawn and the recommendations made as an outgrowth of this study regarding the
level of acceptability of floor wax using lemongrass, oregano, and Madre de cacao
as active ingredients where the residents of barangay Iraya, Guinobatan Albay are
the main respondents. The result of this study provides new insights for future
researchers towards undertaking studies related to the thrust of this study.
Summary
This study determined the effectivity of floor wax specifically, it answered
the following questions:
1. What floor wax may be developed using Lemongrass (Cymbopogon
Citratus), Oregano (Coleus aromaticus Benth), and Madre de cacao(Gliricidia sepium) with the following features;
a. Plant-based
b. Insect repellent
2. What is the level of acceptability of floor wax using lemon grass
(Cymbopogon Citratrus), Oregano (Coleus aromaticus Benth), and
Madre de cacao (Gliricidia sepium) in terms of;
a. Smell
b. Texture
c. Ease of Use
2
d. Repellency
e. Ability to make floor wax slippery
f. Ability to shine the floor
3. What suggestions may be adopted to further improve the floor wax?
The study utilized a quantitative method that uses a pre-experimental
design with a single sample population. To achieve the objective of the study, the
tests were conducted before and after the intervention. This study involved 6
residents in barangay Iraya. The quantitative technique was utilized in collecting
and analyzing the data gathered. Finally, the findings were the bases in giving
recommendations that were proposed in the use of floor wax level of acceptability
of lemongrass, oregano, Madre de cacao.
Findings
1. The findings shows that the product's smell has a percentage of 55.6
percent in average, the texture shows 37.5 percent both average and good, in
terms of repellency there's an average of 77.8 percent good, the ability to make
the floor slippery has a percentage of 44.4 percent poor, and the ability to shine
the floor has a percentage of 55.6 percent poor.

Conclusions
Based on the findings, the following conclusions were drawn:
1. Since the researchers were able to develop a insect repellent floor wax,
residents of barangay Iraya were able to determine the effectiveness.
2. The implementation of researcher made organic floor wax has a positive
effect to repell insects and brings cleanliness and shine to the floor.
3. The utilization of floor wax can improve the
Recommendations
The following were the recommendations based on the findings and
conclusions of the study:
1. Floor wax and pesticides manufacturers can integrate the plants used in
the research to develop an effective insect repellents and floor enhancements.
2. Citizens or even individuals can make use of the plant-based floor wax
for home use due to its effectiveness and insect repelling and floor enhancing.
3. Future researchers may conduct similar studies by using different plants
to enhance the usage and effects of the product
4. Duplication of the same study in a different setting for comparison of
results should be done as it will promote reliability of the study.
5. A more comprehensive study can be conducted for a deeper
understanding of the level of acceptability of lemongrass, oregano, Madre de
4
cacao floor wax in repelling insects to further enhance the utilization of the plantbased floor wax in the households.
6. Future researchers may also conduct the same study with bigger sample size
and a variety of other insect repellent plants in developing a variety of insect
repellent products
