Company Intro:
Paytm that means for “pay through mobile is an Indian financial services and digital payments
corporation with headquarters in Noida. Vijay Shekhar Sharma, working for One97
Communications, founded it in 2010. Customers can use the company's mobile payment services,
and its point of sale, internet payment gateway, and QR code solutions make it possible for
businesses to accept payments. In conjunction with financial institutions, Paytm offers financial
services such as microloans and buy now, pay later to its consumers and merchants. The
business also offers online games, retail brokerage services, and ticketing services in addition to
bill payments and money transfers.
Current Scenario:
We offer a comprehensive suite of payments services to acquire consumers and merchants, as
well as leverage our two-sided, consumer and merchant ecosystem and rich insights from our
platform to cross-sell high-margin financial services and merchant services (commerce and
cloud).
Now the company is looking for new business growth opportunities. After the launch of its IPO,
Paytm has observed a lot of hiccups in its revenue streams, and overall business growth.
Considering the upcoming recession forecast, the company wants to have a sustainable business
model that has minimum impact of recession in Indian market.
The UPI space is already red-ocean but the company feels with the introduction of new products
like Sound Box Payment recognition device may change the game, and there is an opportunity to
tap the market even more despite the current situation of the Paytm.
The company is keen to looking to enter the market with diverse offerings to attract the more
varieties of the customers on its platform.
