ROLE OF CACHE MEMORY SUPERMARKET, SARI-SARI STORE, AND CONSUMER ANALOGY The memory stores the data and the microprocessor processes it. But getting the data from the memory takes long time. That is why cache predicts the data that the microprocessor needs and store it, making the data transfer a bit faster. On the images above, the products from the supermarket, represents the data, the customers is the microprocessor and the sari-sari store is the cache while supermarket is the memory. The products that the customer needed might be or might not be available on the sari-sari store. If the sari-sari store has the certain product, then the customer doesn't need to go to supermarket anymore and can easily access the product. Making the whole process of purchasing a lot faster.
