LINEAGE OF BELOVED PROPHET (PBUH)

Lineage from the Father:
Prophet Muhammad is a direct descendant of Prophet
Ishmael)AS). The Prophet’s full name is Muhammad ibn
‘Abdullah
MUHAMMAD the son of ‘Abd al Muttalib the son of Hashim the
son of ‘Abd Manaf the son of Qusay the son of Kelab the son of
Murrah the son of Ka’b the son of Lu’ay the son of Ghalib the
son of Fehr the son of Malik the son of al Nadr the son of
Kenanah the son of Khuzaymah the son of Mudrikah the sonof
Ilyas the son of Mudar the son of Nezar the son of Ma’d the son
of ‘Adnan.
Prophet’s family had the highest lineage
and the noblest of characters among the
tribes in Arabia.


The full name of the Prophet’s mother is
Amenah bint Wab ibn ‘Abd Manaf ibn
Zuhrah ibn Kelab ibn Murrah ibn Ka’b
ibn Kelab.
Hazrat Abdul(RA) Mutalib the Grandfather of
Prophet Muhammad(PBUH)
Abdul Mutalib was the grandfather of the beloved prophet (peace be upon him)
and was known for his beauty and hospitality. He always used to stay away from
evil, and the tribe of Quraish used to look up to him as a leader.Abdul Mutalib
was the first person to go to the cave of Hira for meditation in solitude.Once
while Abdul Mutalib was asleep in the Hateem(crescent shaped area
immediately adjacent to the Ka’bah), he dreamt that he was being ordered to dig
up the well of Zam Zam. This well had been buried for many years and nobody
knew where it had been buried. After great thought Abdul Mutalib and his son
Harith started digging where he was instructed in his dream, and eventually the
well of Zam Zam was found. From This well many pilgrims used to drink, and till
today it fulfils the same purpose.
Parents of the Prophet Muhammad(PBUH)
Hazrat Abdullah was the best looking man that was ever seen in Arabia
and he enjoyed a fine character and elegant manners.He was the
youngest son of Hazrat Abdul Mutalib. He was once passing by a
gathering of women and one of them said “who would marry this man
and is granted the light between his eyes which I see clearly”. Later
on ‘Hazrat Abdul Mutalib took his son ‘Hazrat Abdullah and went to Wahb
ibn ‘Abd Manaf ibn Zuhra who was the Chieftain of Bani Zuhra tribe and
the highest in lineage and honor. Wahb agreed to marry off his noble
daughter, Hazrat Amenah who was the most honorable in lineage and
had the prestigious position among the tribe of Quraysh. She married the
honorable ‘Hazrat Abdullah ibn ‘Abdul Mutalib.
After the marriage, lady Hazrat Amenah got pregnant and she carried in her womb
the blessed Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). She narrated that her
pregnancy was a light one and she didn’t feel the heavy burden of pregnancy that
women usually feel.
‘Hazrat Abdullah died before the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)
