ASE 306 PROPULSION SYSTEMS Term Project Due date: 30 May 2023 12:00 1. Plot Ideal Cycle showing all the stations of the engine F100-PW-100 with free stream Mach number (Mo) of 0.8 for the sea level (SL) conditions and cruising altitude of Alt=10000m using standard atmosphere. 2. Calculate the thrust and specific fuel consumption of the engine for above defined conditions with afterburner on and off conditions. 3. Calculate the thrust and specific fuel consumption of the engine for above defined conditions with afterburner on and off conditions. 4. For a mission starting from ground SL, taxi and takeoff (AB/on), climb with 100 m/s ascend speed to altitude of 10000 m, M=0.8 (AB/off), Level flight 10 minutes and start landing with 10 m/s descend speed, with idle and landing with thrust reversal of 40% of ideal thrust and taxi stop. Calculate and plot; a. Thrust and Fuel consumption rate vs time. b. Total quantity of fuel consumed. c. Stations temperature, pressure vs time d. Discuss the results obtained regarding to the ideal conditions, efficiencies and offdesign conditions. Compare with the technology levels. 5. Use the necessary data provided in your book. Select your fuel and use f (fuel to air ratio) for throttling. Clearly state your assumptions during your mission such as constant drag or weight of A/C etc where needed. 6. Write down all the equations you use in your report and explain your solution algorithm and provide soft copy as an attachment.
